❗ Writing reviews and the use of AI

I’m going to go out on a limb here, (please don’t come for me:see_no_evil:), and admit I have used AI to phrase a certain point for me and added that in, as I wanted it to sound less…pornographic? Is this okay, or should it not be used at all? All thoughts and opinions shared were all mine and not produced by AI, just re-worded, just to clarify!

I apologise for not checking this previously - AI is used throughout my normal working day now, so much so we’ve just had training on ALL our responses needing to be run through the AI tool the company has just purchased, (I know, it’s like we can’t be trusted to compose an email independently), and I hadn’t considered it may not be allowed for this.

I do apologise if mine was one of the ones flagged!

I also cannot lie, it’s almost an impossibility for me. Hence the need to ‘out myself’ here, as now I’ve read this, I have convinced myself I must be one of them!

Please don’t ban me :sob::face_with_peeking_eye:

@LRLRL I think your thoughts are exactly what a review should convey. I like your style above: telling it like it is in the context of the whole experience.

It hadn’t even crossed my mind to use AI. I’ll stick with my slightly rambling style :joy:

Well I just noticed I repeated myself on one of my reviews so I think its safe to say I didnt use an AI tool :slight_smile:

As somebody who has been doing this for 10 years, it’s a bit insane to me to consider that some people might just feel like trying to cheat the system and use AI. For starters, it’s wildly easy to detect, and secondary, what exactly is the point? A human effort, even if not the best written, is still more valuable than nonsense made by ChatGPT that says nothing of value or outright lies.

Amazing!
Writing the review is so FUN!
A rare pleasure in an increasingly stressful world …
I want AI to do a whole lot of boring tasks so that I get the freedom to review sex toys! Amongst other joys of art and leisure :blush:

The thing with A.I. is that it lacks individuality and personality, some people’s reviews are worth reading just for their wit and style as well as the honesty. If you use A.I. it just comes cross as wanting a freebie without putting the work in.

Using it as tool to help you reword a small part of your own review shouldn’t be too bad, as long as when you read it back it doesn’t sound comuter-y. This is mostly about people using the AI tool to write the entire review without much or any human input :slight_smile:

I wouldn’t trust AI as far as I could throw it. That rubbish will never happen with any of my reviews.

Thank god! However - just to be safe I’ll avoid in future!

This is terrible news!
What is the point of using AI when the aim of a review is to help others decide upon their decision whether a product is right for them.

This decision-making process needs total honesty from the reviewer. The reviewer’s honest opinion of their experience of using a product is of great importance to potential customers.

The dishonest use of AI in order to increase the likelihood of obtaining a tester item, helps no-one. The information submitted is spurious and unhelpful since it does not reflect the real experience of using a particular product - which is, surely, the sole aim of any reviewer.

The whole point of testing a product is to get genuine reviews and experiences, sure, AI can write a fancy sales pitch. But it’s always going to be lacking an actual experience! Another thing I’ve noticed a lot with AI is the vast amount of misinformation, a few months ago I was researching the Yarmouth suspension bridge and ChatGpt said that no one was injured during the incident- total rubbish

I remember a google AI search telling me that malaria can be cured by getting lemon juice into your bloodstream. I’m sure I’d trust an AI telling me what I can and can’t put in my body.

Don’t ever trust their AI, it’s only a collection of popular questions and answers then their AI figures out the most popular answer.

Google’s AI is by far one of the worst ones out there, it started telling people it was healthy to eat rocks once! Not entirely sure I’d be comfortable with that same AI writing reviews for and recommending sex toys. I think I’d much rather hear from the lovely people in this forum any day (;

I totally agree with you on the AI reviews.
I so enjoy writing a genuine review on the products I receive.

HOW… are people using AI to write a review that’s madness!!

Just for them to find out how freaky we are. Yeah that’s a no

This is mental… AI is starting to have far too big of an effect on the world… where does the madness stop… If you’re lucky enough to test products the you should take this job seriously and absolutely revel in the experience.

Yes, totally, if I see that there are reviews that are not genuine, LH or anywhere else, I will leave right away. :woman_shrugging:t2:
