In recent months I have taken a back seat on Lovehoney as I feel many new posts are AI and I just cannot be bothered trying to help when it’s just fake ..
can anyone using AI just go away or stop using it ..

OMG really? For someone who is of a mature age I have all on working online as it is. I would have trouble finding out how to work AI anyway. I have difficulty working on Microsoft Word and finding suitable synonyms for words that don’t read right.
I agree, there was one particular poster who kept posting on a particularly weird topic that nobody was interested in. The posts themselves were very oddly phrased as if A.I. composed, certainly not very human.
Also if people post A.I. reviews in the hope of becoming a tester, maybe Lovehoney could send them a No-Item to review. Similar to the old Marvel comics No-Prize which was an empty envelope?
That’s an interesting idea. I’ve been the target of brushing scams (though not Lovehoney) a few times, why not the other way around?
I use ChatGPT for proofreading and tone checking my blog posts sometimes but never for writing reviews or post writing. Some of the pure waffle ChatGPT comes out with sometimes amuses me greatly ![]()
My reviews are way too long
I turn them into an erotic novel half the time! Haha but I believe AI is the worst thing for reviews
I have too, to be honest I couldn’t tell if something was AI or not but some posts were off putting because they seemed made up or fake and I’d find myself typing out a response to help, then deleting it, as I chose just to not engage instead.
I also have a chronic illness and sometimes I need all my energy to function, so I lurk more during those times and come on when I am feeling more myself.
I, too, have recently noticed an influx of strange topics and suspected AI.
I have a suspicion there is one, or more users, who have multiple accounts, are faking engagement here and in reviews, and the only goal I can assume is to have more possibilities to submit requests for testers.
Now, where can I hang up my tinfoil hat?
That sounds like a plausible idea but I’d have thought it might flag up on the system when the postal address is the same, maybe?
Also, if they read the Sex Toy Tester guide first, they’d know that reviews have to be on products you’ve already purchased prior to becoming a tester, so more accounts = more reviews to write? ![]()
Finally, our reviews have to hae the same username/email that we use on the forum, so that’s not just a boatload of reviews to write but a boatload of throwaway emails to set up too.
Meh, some people will do anything for a chance for free stuff. Hopefully not succeeding is a good lesson in not doing it again ![]()
It’s more hassle than its worth @Tenshadesandme - Having one account, being active and then doing reviews on products you already own is hard enough. Its already time consuming in my opinion. Having more than one account is crazy ![]()
Aww I don’t think of it as time consuming. It’s part of contributing to the community to me, 100% worth it ![]()
I just feel like it’s actually going to take away part of the community, some people just want free stuff and they use bots to exploit stuff.
as a couple who are really interested in all areas sexual, we enjoy the unboxing, testing, writing and exploring part.
Yeah absolutely. Probably more because I play the games. I’m a sucker for music ![]()
The mods aren’t daft, i’m sure they can spot A.I. generated reviews a mile off.
Not exactly related but I’m part of the OLIO network and I get people bulk grabbing on there too, possibly creating sock accounts and working in groups to nab car-bootables. If someone asks for more than two items and forgets their manners I just skip them, basic manners should be a prerequisite for getting anything for free. I even had a guy turn up with a list once, like he was going to bloomin’ Tesco!
I’ve not had a single product to review since the first warning about AI went out. I know loads of people want to be testers, and if I’ve simply not been lucky enough to get picked that’s fine. I just hope I haven’t been blacklisted because of suspected AI usage. I’ve been accused of using AI online before, but I’ve never used AI to write anything for me, it’s just the way I speak. ![]()
You’ll find that my review style remains the same across my reviews, including ones done long before AI was ever available.
