I know there is a thread going about where we all keep our sex toys. It got my my creative mind working.
I've done some research and the only types of sex toy bags I can really find around is plain coloured velvet ones, a few pencil case looking things and generally nothing that exciting. I thought it would be wonderful to be able to order a bespoke vibrator bag (or other toy bags) to go with a product. I guess this would appeal more to the ladies, but guys may like to purchase a bag to go with a gift. (Just to point out I am not being sexiest here, guys may want toy bags as well!)
Today I made myself one out of Cath Kidston material. It looks really funky. I was also thinking that rather than just bags, I could create mini bespoke briefcases, or even larger suitcases.
Obviously it's just an idea at the moment, my plan would be to make each one really individual or special such as ribbon, little silk flowers, lace or even just a plain one made in a material of your choice.
I don't want to think too much into it there wouldn't be a market for it. I understand they would need to sell at reasonable prices and it would be a great to have something to do while my illnesses are slowing me down and keeping me at home.
Have you heard of Etsy and Folksy? They seem to be the places where people sell their vintage/retro and handmade items, so might be worth looking in to?

Have checked them out and would be likley to sell on there, or just create my own website. I already sculpt and paint model horses so I think I could kick it off. Just need to know if the market is there
Ours live in plastic bags in a big wooden basket but I'm sure some people would be interested.
I think personalised stuff is a great idea but I think general bags/cases will be competitive and specialised vibe bags will be more difficult to get customers.

I so want to make a comment on that, but think I'll just point it out and smile External Media
As for the topic, I think it's a good idea on one hand, but on the other... wouldn't a purpose-made sex-toy bag attract attention? That would be an issue, I think.
Look forward to seeing what you come up with though!

it depends on how you make it i guess. something with "sex toy" written across it in big letters would. but a normal cloth bag probably wouldnt. you get little cloth bags with loads of products like glasses, jewelry, mp3 players
some sex toys allready come with little draw string silk bags as they are ( lelo, we vibe ect) so it shouldnt be hard to make them
as with most craft things though for the price you sell them you probably wouldnt make a profit if you counted in the hours you spend making them.
also you have to be careful about copyright too, for example using a sewing pattern or certain fabric designs could cause trouble. research is warrented if you do decide to sell.

Good point. There have been companies who have complained about components being utilised without authorisation. If you buy fabric though it would seem odd if someone can claim copyright when you upholster a cushion...
There's a v.popular website where you can have a little shop & sell your own homemade products.... but the name escapes me D: .I don't know if there's be a huge market for it but might be worth looking into?

I think the key features would have to be - capacity, organising pockets and discreet styling. If you can tick all three boxes, you're doing better than most toybox suppliers!
