2 quick questions about the forum

I can find a list of my own posts, but is there a way to search my own posts? Say I made a comment in a discussion, is there a way to sesrch only my own posts for those key words?

Is there any kind of “my photos” link so I can find any images I have posted buried in deep threads?

On the phone app, if you tap on the three lines toward the top of the screen it opens a drop down menu, which has a heading my posts, click on that and it should show you your posts.

For photos, you can’t click somewhere to see all your photos within one place but within individual photo topics (which there aren’t that many of) it’s easy. If you just want to see them as a one off you can click on yours (or anyone else with a public profile’s) icon within the topic. Top left is a button that says, number of posts in topic, click that and it will display only that person’s posts within the topic.

For example, if I wanted to only see my posts withing images to share in topics, I would click here and it would show only the OP and my 31 posts within the topic:

Alternatively, you can create your own link to your photos following @Ian_Chimp 's helpful guide here. Then, for example, this link takes you to only your photos @be3169 (and Brenna’s OP) within the lingerie thread.

https://lovehoneyforum.com/t/lingerie-photo-uploads/257652?username_filters=be3169

You can create these for any threads and add them to your profile so it’s an easy click away, like, for example (hope you don’t mind being another example) @wildflower has done.

I have to say it’s not one of the easiest things to know. Most forum platforms a child could easily find their own content but this platform seems to be rather complex. Other platforms have tabs my content and you just click on it.

I think this was one of the main discussions when this new platform appeard it looks rather complicated to someone who isn’t familiar with how things work.

Ooo I didn’t even know this!

Sure. You just add @be3169 to the search bar along with whatever you’re searching for.

You can search @be3169 with:images, and that will bring up some results (generally one example per topic, but you can search within a topic to find all of the ones in there). You can change the results sort order to ‘most liked’ and that should give you more individual results than the ‘relevance’ one.

If you go to the full search page https://lovehoneyforum.com/search you can open up the advanced options and see some other search filters too.

I have to agree with that actually. I used to work with several different message boards and this one is certainly different than what I know but I do appreciate the help from the more experienced users when I just can’t figure out how to do something I think I should be able to do. Just this past week I finally figured out how to go from the last post to the first post (or the other way) in really long discussions without having to scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll and…

I may have a finger print grow back on my index finger after all. BTW for others, the purple post count in the bottom right is the trick. I kept trying to slide the progress bar but you need to click on it to get a jump box. There you can drag to go from start to end or anywhere in between in one action.

@Ian_Chimp … where do I find the advanced search option? That would certainly be helpful for sure. Attached image is what I see from the main search…

Ah, another casualty of the wonky custom theme on here.

If you look very closely at the right hand side where the purple magnifying glass is you can see three lines superimposed on top. They should be separate, but I think they’re still clickable.

Alternatively, if you search for something in the header search but press return twice it should take you to the full search page instead.

I am trying to feel sexy here but still had to put on my reading glasses to see what you described but I see it now. A true faux pas from a web design standpoint. Your suggestion of double clicking the search is close. I clicked on the magnifying glass and then hit enter twice to get the advanced search. That will help for sure.

As long as I am getting all learned up on this forum… one more question.

Is there a way to preview your post before posting? If I add a link, image, format some text, add a smiley… is there a way I can see how it all renders before I post it? Currently I format the post and then post it. Then I review it to see what isn’t right and work through a series of edits but that also shows my post as being edited several times on the message board. If I see a post from another that has been edited 6 times it does make me question legitimacy when it it may be just formatting issues.

Oh, I take it back. Second issue is “Deleted by author”. Can an optional entry be added to allow the author to add a reason?

Deleted by author - duplicate post
Deleted by author - changed my mind
Deleted by author - messed up my post
etc…

Down the bottom of the text box, there’s a little computer icon that will show you how the formatting will look when posted (just to save you from all the edits)

Deleted by author is just the default of what pops up when a forum member deletes their post.

They could add the reason if they edited the post themselves, but many choose not to.

I put this to you - why should they have to disclose their reasons for deleting a post? Why does the reason they deleted it matter?

Yes I don’t think we should know why someone has deleted their post it’s not our business to know. @be3169 have you seen this on another forum, I don’t think I have ever seen that as a option anywhere else. This is a advice forum so people who deleted their post probably wanted to keep anonymous.

We do have a members only section but even then it’s not safe enough because you just gave to be a member to look into it, It would be great if the Members section was harder to get into like you have to be a active member for 12 months.

uh-uh… you and @teacake misinterpreted my comment. I am in no way suggesting it be required, just an option if desired. Case in point, I was trying to post one evening from my phone and repeatedly messed up trying to copy and paste. I ended up with about 6 “deleted by author” posts in a row within the same thread. Not a good look on me IMO. I have had others where the image did not work. Another “deleted by author” post without explanation. When I read through a discussion and I see a post" deleted by author" I assume there was a tiff of some sort unless it is immediately followed by another post from the same member which is not always the case. I never thought about editing a deleted post because logically a deleted post doesn’t exist. “Deleted by author” comment is automated so I didn’t know I could edit that. I will go looking for one of my many messed up post attempts and experiment a bit.

I can’t imagine anyone bothering with it once it’s deleted the person has moved on. I suppose there is one person @be3169 lol

It does make things look messy, you would think like some other forums that if you have a delete option the whole thing/box is removed not just the text.

LOL… I am just special. Two points in my defense…

I am used to being on the back end of websites like this and can sometimes see things differently.
I also have the personality type that lines up books based on size rather than content (drives my librarian wife nuts btw). I like things tidy, organized, and logical (logical to me that is).

I am not bad… just… um… different.

Missed adding a shout out to @Ian_Chimp for the help and feed back. Thanks!

Yes…agree

It’s a sexual and sex toy discussion forum or I thought it was anyhow?
Where we can chat anonymously about all manner of things.

Not the secret service…or needing to know more about why…or who?
Mmmmm

Does it really matter why someone has edited a post?
It’s their business, nobody else’s.
I might edit a post because I think of something else to say, or word it better.
More often than not i edit them because i use my phone mostly and text using my right thumb which has been severely crushed, so i have nerve damage in the tip and often hit the wrong letter by accident and even though i proof read before hitting send, i only notice later a spelling mistake i missed.
Just be happy to use the forum rather than disect it!
