Best and worst first dates!

Hi all. Thought i would ask a very important question thats been on my mind for quite some time ;) haha

So ladies and gents, what is your best / worst first date you have ever had. Come on most of us have had those pretty shocking first dates before and im sure we can all look back and have a good laugh. Dont need to be specific or anything, simply inteneded as a laugh and for people to learn what to do/not do in the future :)

I suppose i should start:

Best date - Few drinks in bar, followed my a nice walk back to her place. And no nothing happend after that (it was just a first date after all lol). Wasnt esp exciting, just everything went really well and was a lovely walk. Really got to know each other.

Worst - Well theres been a few however the worst had to be arranging to meet my date in a coffee shop. I turned up first and made the mistake of sitting at a table around the corner where it was less loud (me thinking it would be better for us to talk). Well unkowen to me, my date turned up, looked around the place quickly, couldnt see me, and then went to another coffee shop up the road instead. Several minutes passed followed by an awaked text until eventually we worked it out and she turned up. By this point we were both a bit fed up and she did not see the funny side of the incident. This led to quite a sober conversation and supprise, suprise, no second date haha

So what about everyone else?

Best first date

went to a resteraunt, had a great evening laughing and joking. I was working next day at 6AM so made my excuses and we were just leaving the resteraunt, me hoping she would want a second date when she said "you dont have to take me straight home do you"........next day I finished work, drove down to Lydden Hill won two races fell off in the thirsd and the following Friday picked Mrs G (to be) up at the end of her road and we spent the weekend in the lake district.

That was June 1982

Best date:

Went to Cardiff for the day, had lunch in a beautiful French restaurant by the bay then went to a little museum all about South Wales (sounds boring but was fun!). Then we walked around the bay with ice creams, spontaneously went on a boat trip and then we went for afternoon tea and cake. He then took me to IKEA and we chose our ideal furniture, bought cuddly toys and got some tapas and wine afterwards! Then he bought me a kinder egg and put me on a train home. Shame nothing more happened really...

Worst date:

Met at a bar, he talked about his ex girlfriend for an hour and a half (as well as all the other 'psycho' women he has dated) and I didn't get a word in edgeways. Couldn't get out of there fast enough!

Got a date tonight though so who knows...

Best Date,

With my current OH, it wasn't anything special, we just hung out ordered food and chatted, but everything felt right, it wasn't alkward there was no silences. It just felt natural to be together.

Worst Date:

I met this really nice guy and went out on a date with him, it was so mind numbingly boring, he was a really posh guy who spent the whole time talking about himself, how loaded he was, how all his exes was still madly inlove with him. I found myself doing a 'Will and Grace' when Grace has a date with that guy and spends the whole date shutting an eye imagining the guy stood next to the bar and behind the bar!

At the end of the night he then grabbed my face, and kissed me. I say kissed it more like resembled some sort of fish having a seizure, my face was soacking where he'd slobbered and licked all over it!

'

Best date: went on a date with an acquaintance for a drink in our local town and it was great despite not knowing each other very well, conversation flowed, lots of banter and there was a mutual attraction. We went on a few more dates after that but didn't go any further as he had travelling plans sadly!

Worst date: met a guy off a dating site for a drink - throughout the date I could tell I wasn't attracted to him and I think he was a lot more into me than I was him. It was awkward and he kept making sarcastic jokes which I'm all for but sometimes you've gotta just rein it in and he didn't seem to know how to. After much pestering, I went back to his for a little bit and he was about as smooth as a hedgehog's arse, he BIT MY LEG which I assume he thought was seductive but backfired as I was wearing tights and HE had braces which left a hole in said tights. He started whinging I was "backing away from him" when he tried to kiss me, and I knew I had to get out of there so took one for the team and kissed him. Worst kiss ever, his braces mutilated my gums and it was the wettest kiss ever. I HATE wet kisses.

Best first date, probably with my boyfriend. We met online so we arranged to meet in a pub. Honestly, nothing particularly amazing happened but it was just a really nice date. We just got on really well, the conversation was effortless, he was funny and handsome and the evening was rounded off by a really nice kiss when he walked me to my car.

And the second date was even better!

I've honestly never had a particularly bad first date and I've been on a few! Think I've been very lucky :) x

Ive had some nice first dates but nothing mind blowingly memorable. No THAT falls to my worst first date:

He was a teacher and we got chatting online as I was interested in what he had to say and his knowledge on certain subjects. We met up for a lunch and he went to the bathroom, was gone 5 minutes, came back and handed me a tissue all proud of himself like.

Turns out he went for a wank, ejaculated into the tissue and brought me the tissue like some sort of prize. We were not even discussing sex! I think he thought it would turn me on? lol

That was weird. Too weird even for me lol

Best date - I have to say has to be with T , talked online for ages meet in Oxford had a lovely day shopping trip had our first kiss there and held hands all the way around was so natural . Went back to the hotel swapped Valentine presents , kissed some more cuddle went out for a beautiful meal had a lovely evening could of been better . Didn't make love on 1st date it was lovely to fall alseep in his arms & wake up in them , it was perfect start to what is becoming the most amazing relationship ever x

My worst was with a woman who couldn’t manage to sustain conversation. There are only so many openers and questions you can throw out. This is why I like coffee as a first date, having endured a very painful half hour it was easy enough to wrap up.

My best first date was probably my last one we talked for hours, took a walk, had tea by the river and then drinks while discussing politics, gender and porn.

not a date as such but...

Was on an overnight train from Paris to Milan the carriages sleep three people. I got into an empty carriage, an elderly lady came in then a young woman. We were talking for a few hours in French then went to sleep, As the train was approaching Milan the old lady went to the loo. The young woman then told me she was English, she knew I was English from my accent. She told me she was a student of Art in Florence, her train wasnt until 5 PM, I was just goin to Bergamo and could take a train any time. So we spent the day sightseeing in Milan talking about our lives families her boyfriend my wife daughter, art architecture had a lovely meal in a bistro. All round it was a lovely day, went back to the train station gave each other a big hug and said goodbye. A really nice day.....wasnt till I got on the train I realised I hadnt even asked her name.

Best date was with my Oh. Just out for a drink and something to eat but it was just so relaxed and everything came very easily so made for a really lovely time.

Worst date was a sort of blind date my friend set up. He was a nice guy but he was just so painfully shy. Something he obviously thought would be an issue as he actually brought his mate along on the date with him! dunno who i felt more sorry for.

worst date....met a girl in Japan agreed to go out on a date. we met up in a bar full of her mates blathering in Japanese, then we went to another bar full of more mates of hers then another and another ......eventually I got sick of it she said if we just went to one more then we could go back to my hotel.......She was showing me off like a trophy..completely wierd...I went back to my local and left her with her mates lol

Best date would have to be with my current partner. It's difficult to choose which was best between our second and third date. The first date was good but I was far too nervous for it to qualify as best.

Second date was Chester zoo, really good day! People think a date in the zoo is weird but I think it's perfect, we both love animals, there are lots of things to look at and talk about to avoid any awkward silences. We went into Chester afterwards for a meal and couldn't keep our hands off each other! Such a simple day out but I'll always remember it.

Third date, think if I have to choose this is best. I went to his house, his parents were on holiday so we had the place to ourselves. We spent most of our time kissing. Kissing led to fondling. When we weren't kissing we were talking. We tried to watch a film but just got too distracted. It had already been agreed that I was going to stay the night, so when he suggested going upstairs I felt like the luckiest girl ever.

As it turned out, we didn't have sex that night, we cuddled and talked and I have never felt so close to someone as I did that night. It felt so right and I knew then that I loved him and we were right for each other. I consider that night a defining moment in our relationship, I knew then that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

Worst date...oh my god lol. Met a guy off the Internet. I'm not even sure it was a date as my friend came with me! We went to the cinema (not good for a first date) and it was solo awkward. He was a lovely guy but he didn't resemble his profile pic much and there was no attraction AT ALL. What's worse is he bought me a dozen red roses! Nice gesture but I felt so bad. Conversation didn't exactly flow and I knew I didn't want to see him again.

When we left he text me saying he really liked me and wanted to arrange another date! I haven't had to let someone down before, it was horrible I felt like the worlds biggest bitch. We did remain friends though.

My best date

My best date had to be my first date with my current fiancé. I met him online and found out we had mutual friends. We me at a local harvester-type-pub near Bolton and ordered our meals. And we talked so much that our food went cold! I immediately knew he was the one I wanted to spend my future with!

My worst date:

my worst fate had to be when I was 16 and I was being taken out for lunch..it was a Greggs sausage roll. Lol
