Hey everyone

Just looking for a spot of feedback here...

Are there any colours or materials you love or hate for bondage gear? (This can be anything from restraints and spankers to fetishwear and sensory tools.)

Is there anything in particular you would like Lovehoney to stock? (No links here please - just a brief description is fine. Links can go on the new Pander to Me thread)

Do you feel we're missing out on any particular niches within the category? Please bear in mind we tend not to go into extreme bondage/fetish play (asphyxiation, blood play etc) as there are specialist stores for this who can offer proper advice for safe play, but we do want to offer a great range of products for as many fetishes and tastes as we feel we can.

Any input would be fab!

Chains...heavy, clanking chains. I much prefer these to nylon, velcro, leather restraints etc. I know Lovehoney does stock a few items that have chain in them somewhere but not really those of the heavy, industrial variety that I love x

Hi Jess

We have never been fond of the fetishwear side of things. Perhaps surprising as you know we are active roleplayers and costumes are an essential part.

For restraints not too bothered about material. Purple has always been a favourite colour of mine.

There arn't that many canes on here and although we probably wouldn't go that far , I guess there are many out there who would like you to stock more canes. We would probably buy one ( a school type cane) probably just to use as a prop .

Perhaps more books and specific topics like spanking and showing you one how to use things properly. Caning someone properly is a skill , because done incorrectly can cause bad pain .

We do want to go down the elctro route, hopefully this year around Christmas . Perhaps some special offers around that period could tempt us , as the equipment is so expensive.

I like black and I also like the grey that features in the FSOG range :) Personally I don't like leather so much, I'd rather use things made out of fabric.

Another thought. Perhaps to encourage more people to explore bondage gear a range of less treatening colours may be a good idea. Such as Yellow ,Green, white or Light Blue .

The more traditional colours can look a little threatening to a beginner.

I know you already sell bondage rope, but perhaps some items that are 'pre-tied' eg some kind of adjustable breast bondage for those of us who aren't that technically adept!

Black is the colour that makes bondage play rather than brighter colours.

I wouldn't say 'hate', but red looks pretty tacky imo and it's so overdone I'd rather see something different than more of the same. There's sooo much black and red, or just plain black/plain red, and pretty as it is there's only so many pairs of black cuffs you can buy, ya know? I love leather and silicone as materials. Leather in natural brown shades is gorgeous. Purple is a gorgeous colour for any material.

Anything with a bit more colour! I don't think I need to point out I'd personally love blue to be one of those colours :p but purple and pink would be lovely too, or even white.

I'd love to see some metal items again, you used to stock a metal collar or two so I guess they're not ideal to sell here but I'm still hopefull. I'd love to see more cutsey items too, like things that would match the baby pink Bondage Boutique Leather Pleasure Cuffs. Things that fit with the DDLG/princess aesthetic, if that makes sense? That's the best way I can think to describe it...cute but kinky!

I'd love to see more silicone or wooden spanking implements too. There are also amazingly colourful paracord floggers and such out there, if you haven't looked into those that would be awesome. Something to match the Pride dildos!

Material wise, I like faux leather or silk for restraints, depending how I'm feeling, and wood, silicone and faux leather for spanking implements. I would love to see some more silicone and wood pieces available as I'm looking for more advanced items now.

As for colours for bondage items, most of my collection is black and red. I do like the BRAUN range though as it's a bit different. I tend to opt for darker colours so I can co-ordinate my items as much as possible.

Finally, I'd love to see a wider range of colours in the category of Fetishwear. Electric blue and burgundy in the colder months, pastels in the summer. Fetish clothing doesn't have to be restricted to black!

I am an especially tactile type of person, so the wider the range of sensations the better. What I'm saying is, a vast- or at the very least respectable- variety of materials is attractive to me.

That said, I prefer breathable, and natural where possible, materials. Especially hemp and bamboo. (This is including all relevent wearables, bondage, and impact toys.)

As a (mostly)vegan, I also would like to see more alternatives to leather items. For example, I would love to try some vampire gloves and/or a vampire hand paddle, but the only ones Lovehoney currently stocks are made from real leather. I would, however, consider recycled or refurbished leather. Any real silk items would preferably be from ethical sources.

As to colours, I know black is the classic, but because it's soooo prevalent, it's pretty much become a big bore to me. I would love to see more colour come into the scene. Red isn't hard to find, and indeed, I am now building up a collection in that hue, so I'd be glad to add to it with matching items.

BDSM in the media would have you believe that anything other than black and silver (and maybe some red) is sacrilege and white is right out! But my partner and I both love white, so it would be lovely to see some.

In the same vein as black, when it comes to (uncoated) metal, silver is king. I like silver, but again, it's getting a bit repetitive. I LOVE seeing more rose gold popping up! I think it's a gorgeous, luxurious, and romantic colour. My all-time favourite metallic. But seeing some yellow gold or (quality) dyed metals/coloured plastics would help keep things interesting.

It's no secret that I'm a fan of pinwheels, so always take it as a given that KitsiKiki would like to see as many different styles of wheels or scratchers or similar items as you can dig up!

I guess we are traditional we like our bondage gear to be in strong deep colours, black, red, purple brown. Not sure if it is us subliminally taking that from what we have seen, but there is an association with strength and control, it also match the colours in our bedroom.

Material wise, Leather, faux leather, wood, metal,.

I like toys with solids metal closures if I can undo them when they are on me it ruins the point of control play to me.

I'd like some plastic paddles to be stocked.

Also, the rulers (made from wood, not plastic), like Coco De Mers 'Teach me a lesson' one. I LOVE it, I just really wish it was meter lengthed.

Other than that I'm a sucker for leather and metal. The metal handled floggers ect.

In terms of fetwear I like PVC as it's comfortable but kinky. Wetlook items are also good. Rubber and latex are a no for me because of the fit and smell. Black and red are my favourite generic colours but I have some lovely medmaid coloured one off toys with teals and blues going on too. I like when things are faux leather and sturdy since I'm well past beginner. I've had some of the cheaper ones break on me in the past so tend to steer clear from plastic impact play toys.

I know that there's a lot more in terms of candles out there with colours, hidden heart, glitter candles, rope taper, etc. which I use in play sometimes. Pouring wax jugs are fun too but I'm pretty in love with wax play :P Some thicker wooden paddles perhaps. The ones I've looked at one here seem quite thin and, going off reviews, can crack and splinter. And maybe some made entirely of metal. A carpet beater/racquet type impact toy would be cool too and if it's an intricate carpet style one leave such a pretty mark.

Pretty collars would be nice too. Different colours with cute metal hearts or something (google "heart collar"). In safety terms it might be an idea to sell little antiseptic sets in case of bleeding from pin wheels and perhaps rope scissors.

Understand your concern with blood play and the like which is a shame because I love a spiked paddle and have some medical grade needles on the way for trying out decorative play but understand why they aren't necessarily stocked on here.
