So at first, it’s best to only where the cage for short amounts of time as your body gets used to wearing one. The other side of the coin is making sure you have a proper fit. It has multiple rings and spacers to get proper sizing, is quite durable, and is basically the crown jewel of plastic devices. It will also help you determine sizing for a more permanent metal device if that is your choice. If you are a grower not a shower, go with the S. It’s far more comfortable.
As long as you have the correct ring and spacer there is no limit to how long you can wear it. In Locktober I wore mine 24/7 for the whole month apart from a 10 minute shower and shave each morning which also gave me the opportunity to wash the cage too. This is an essential piece of hygiene with cages like the 6000 as they are impossible to clean properly unless you remove them.
The more open style metal cages are easier to clean and can be worn full time.

The cage at present is the right size however the ring could be slightly too small as it will literally only just close with a bit of a struggle. The crown jewels changed colour slightly but was not uncomfortable.
If your testicles change colour, its not the right size ring. You should be able to get your index finger between the ring and your skin without too much effort. Also check if they retain normal body temperature. If they go cold, that is bad!!
Like @rockstar, I also wore my cage 24/7. With my original dominix cage, I did this for up to 4 days without taking it off at all (its fairly open and easy to clean, doesn’t suffer from sweat build up etc). The whole “not overnight” thing is manufacturers / retailers covering their backsides if someone has issues from wearing incorrectly sized ring too long.
I ended up looking on dhgate for other styles not available here and settled on a few short metal cages. For the length of the cage, shorter is better than longer, if your flaccid penis is pushed up against the end, thats about right.
As for what you can do to help change things up, serving as a sub
Prepare and cook meals, wash up afterwards.
Prepare her a bath with essential oils, candles etc, have glass of whatever drink ready

You need to train your body to wear the device, initially short periods (1/2 - a few hours), then slowly extend the time. Also “fits well” can be subjective. Too much room in the cage part, and your penis will be able to grow, pulling on the ring behind your testicles. Ring too tight will restrict bloodflow and can lead to serious damage. You should be able to get a finger (to the 2nd knuckle) between your skin and the ring, if the ring is too big, it will fall off, “snug but not tight”.

As far as OH finding the cage, if it hasn’t happened found it yet, I doubt she’d find it unless we were moving to a new house. It’s in a drawer in my side of the closet that even I don’t hardly access but maybe a couple times each year and for very specific reasons.
I have one sports jersey in that drawyer that I use annually for a themed party (not sexual). I also have some work clothing items that I use twice a year for very specific job related meetings. Other than that, I never even touch the drawer. Well, I do a lot more now that I’ve been placing my toys there.
