Christmas night out

What’s everyone doing? I had my work one last night. Had a christmas meal and then drinks. (Took advantage as we have a baby due just before christmas, and christmas dinner is going to be different). Haven’t been out for a few years with covid etc. Nice to get “dressed up” and see the city so busy. Needn’t have bothered though seeing as the young men all had on joggers and trainer’s (must be showing my age in my cords and pea coat). We live a few miles from the city so got the bus home from bus station at 10.15. Son was up at 6.30:man_shrugging:t2:

I won’t be having one. My work gives us money for it but the majority of people work from home now and that means our teams can be mixed with people all over the UK. My team has people from all 4 countries. The people that I’d want to be around are already my friends.

Nothing for me either. As a webcammer working alone from home I have no colleagues to socialise with… looks like its me alone with a bottle of wine then! :joy:

I had a night out last weekend with some girls i used to work with which was a much needed evening. Where i currently work, we get a voucher in lieu of a night out but some of our dept have arranged a meal next weekend. As lovely as they are, i didnt fancy it so im going out with the family

I had my first one last night too, just the girls though. It was great :clinking_glasses: we’ve got a main company one on the 17th, then we’ve got a separate branch one on the 29th

My liver is not gonna love me by new year.

Our outing is in 2 weeks. I’m the newest to the department so I’m keeping it nice and tame

Our work Christmas party is next week. Can’t wait since we haven’t had one since 2019. It’ll be a good night out and our kids are going to have a sleepover with my parents as well.

I won’t be having one this year. I work in a sports bar and with the World Cup on, it’s just to busy. We will definitely make up for this in January

Ahh gone are the days when everyone made a big effort to dress up nice for an evening out :flushed:

Not sure i could bring myself to wear joggers outside the house especially if it was for a special occasion

I love any chance to get dressed up me!!!

The office works party is an overnighter as we all WFH and based all over Wales but where we’re staying isn’t even near a major city… I fear I’m getting excited about something that’s going to be a bit of a let down :joy:

I’ll just make the most of the bars cocktails and make the best of it :100:

Hope everyone enjoys whatever they get up to though regardless of going out or not :blush:

Mine consists of lunch out on the last day (when Id far rather just head home early).

The owners hold court with stories (that we have all heard before) from 20 plus years ago (in which they are always the heroes). The rest of us are supposed to be hanging off every word.

My BS tolerance has dramatically decreased recently so there will be no alcohol for me for fear of what may fly out of my mouth.

@Mrs.John get yourself all dressed up and make your husband jealous:thinking:

LOL thinking of an old manager who’d ask me the next day if he’d said anything offensive. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

That sounds like a lunch I’d need alcohol to get through

I went on my christmas night out last
night, we went to a 90s club classics night. I think we all ended up having one too many but it was nice to all have a night out together.

Got mine next Saturday but it will have to be watching England first before a night out in Bristol and ending up in a 80s club :joy:
