Over the years I had a sure fire cure for a cold . Go snorkeling in saltwater , can not dive with a cold . Discovered accidentally , had planned a dive , but cold hit on the way to dive . After a rather long snorkel and on the way home my sinuses were clear . The next best thing is saline nasal spray . For sore throat I do a shot glass of whisky , lemon juice and honey . Depending on how bad , substitute a water glass of the same mix .

Is the hot milk necessary? Can we keep it to just the whisky?

I did once get very drunk on whisky and was very ill so no i just add a little to some milk with some honey. My drink of choice is rum closely followed by gin.

I’m sfill down with whatever bug my beloved has bought back from the office this time but yesterday I had the window open a crack. Just being able to breathe fresh air not stuffy indoor air has made a huge difference.
I’m not completely clear of it yet but my chest feels a tonne clearer!

Thankyou sweet, mostly it’s the cough that’s getting me. Oh and I’ve lost my voice which some might consider a blessing I’m sure 
Oh bless him, I’m glad he’s on the mend. Is it a tummy thing or a fluey thing he’s come down with?

The cough and losing your taste is the worse part for me. And my gut feeling was correct. Home test was positive for flu. We go away on Monday for Christmas and The New Year so I’m hopeful
