It got me thinking: I know a lot us watch porn videos but I’m kinda torn between the titillation side & the moral side of it. Or am I overthinking it…?

@VeryCurious6 a very hard one to answer, obviously it’s hopefully the individuals involved in the incident have been caught reported to and dealt with and the well being of the girl, what an awful traumatic experience to encounter, is there such a thing as ethical porn ? Someone is surely being exploited somehow or in some way ? Not judging by the way !

I just watch amateur stuff with people around my age, so hopefully avoid exploitation. As we know from conversations on the forum, it can be lucrative, but you have be able to cope with it mentally.

I tend to not watch porn films as they seem to be over fake, I know there are some that are not overall I do not really watch them. One reason is because over the year’s I have seen countless documentaries about the porn industry, which have shown a lot of the people who appear in them to have mental health issues. I can only speak as of then not today as I have not seen any recent doc’s made on the subject.
Years ago Louis Therroux made an excellent documentary on the subject, he interviewed a few people who were in the porn industry, he questioned the mental health of one particular Male, years later he revisited the male, who had stopped performing, listening to his story as to why got into the industry was quite sad.
I am sure that there are many performers who do not have issues and do it purely for the money they can make, but many don’t. When I have watched some porn I could not help but wonder why they are doing it, maybe like you @VeryCurious6 I too over think it.

You can find some ethical porn sites which check the wellbeing of actors etc. (I think each is slightly different so you’ll have to look into each one)
I used to feel so guilty watching porn, but now I stick to these sites I feel better about it

Nah I think that’s quite a good question as in some things I’ve come across it’s been role played out as if the person was drugged up while being gang banged and although it comes with a disclaimer I still wonder how many of these videos out there on porn sites are actual genuine rape or adult abuse masked to look like normal within all the other extreme fetish stuff?!!
That then puts me off and feeling awful to think how many maybe unknowingly seeing stuff what is real deal

I tend to stick with my animated or drawn porn just because that’s what I’m into anyway and I know nothing is happening in reality, but this is an interesting subject. There could very well be awful things happening that the viewer wouldn’t realise as @AJSTAR said?

It’s crazy as there’s no way of tell these days when so much is out there on the internet and of course when porn addicts are looking for the next thrill it gives an opening for others to up the extreme in multiple of ways…

Suppose even with your traditional porn magazines, there’ll still be an element of whether they gave consent or are capable of giving consent (drugs/alcohol). See, I overthink stuff all the time. Second guess other folk and myself.
One of the men I used to work with was into some pretty extreme stuff, abuse type porn etc and frankly I found it a bit sickening. I get that there are lots of different tastes and interests but when it borders on rape for me its too much.
