We’re looking into the trend of Fantasy Dildos at the moment and were wonding if you could help us with some of our burning questions.
What about Fantasy Dildos appeals to you? Is it the shape? The size? The texture? Do you find they are higher quality? Or is there something about the design that gets your heart racing?
Is there something in the Fantasy category that you’re not currently seeing, but would love to see in the future?
It’s a little of this and a little of that of all 4 options. But for me primarily it’s the appearance; as a male who mostly uses the dildos for pegging I like it not to look like a penis
I think it makes my wife (and myself to an extent) more comfortable with the activity
For us, the appeal of fantasy dildos is mainly about the aesthetic. They tend to look more vibrant and more unique, and there is much more room for variety compared with realistic or generic designs. That visual creativity combined with the freedom of shape gives designers more scope to experiment, which means the toys can offer sensations that feel genuinely different instead of repeating the same basic experiences. Because of that, we are far more likely to build a wider collection when each item feels distinct rather than similar.
Textures also seem to be explored more in the fantasy style, which adds another layer of interest. Quality is always important to us with any toy, so we do not see it as a reason that is specific to fantasy toys. Whatever we buy needs to be good quality regardless of style.
In terms of what we would like to see in the future, continued creativity is the main thing. More bold colour options, more unusual shapes, and more varied textures would all keep the category exciting.
We have only tried a couple but it’s probably the novelty and taboo of them…… it’s something that’s not really deemed as “normal” what ever that is these days!
Being stretched out by a mythical creature is not something that could ever happen! but having the different shapes and different animals seems for us just extremely naughty. And the different sizes girths ridges shapes is limitless! Great fun
I think they’re attractive and interesting to look at. The textures are fun too, with fantasy dildos the designer’s imagination can go wild with different textures
Most are too big for me so I can’t say the size does anything for me (ones with less girth would be great haha).
To be honest I’m not an afficionado as I’m not a big fan of dildos generally, I’m lazy and I like my toys to have vibrations or suction or flicking and generally just do most of the work for me!
Having said that, what appeals to me most, is that they don’t look like a human penis. I have my OHs cock to play with and much prefer my toys to look like toys but outside of the fantasy range not many have the same exciting textures or shape which is a definite plus of these dildos.
I have Mystique and the shape is amazing with the bulbous ridges getting larger down the shaft. This was my reason for wanting it, it is a similar shape to the LH beaded glass dildo but a large step up in size. Reaches my limits.
Aesthetically, I most love the Lovehoney Scaly Dragon, I think it’s shape with the bulbous parts and overall texture look amazing. Same with the Creatute Cocks Hades, it looks a great shape. So yeh, what’s missing from the range and what I’d most like is deep rumbly vibrations in these two fantasies, please.
For me, it boils down to quite a lot of things!! The shape and the appearance are easily the most important. Texture IS a close third but not as important in my eyes. What I really get out of them, though, is the imagination aspect.
I read a ton of lewd fantasy novels and have been for a very long time, so the idea of getting railed by a monster or some sort of creature is incredibly appealing to me~ especially with all of their contrasting and unique anatomy

We like the concept of them as my OH is into Fantasy novels and this means we can live out the fantasy (in play). It’s only an occasional thing when the mood is right tho.
From an aesthetic front the unusual shapes of these items means that I can really enjoy the different look they create when inserted and removed. I really love seeing how the anatomy changes shape to accommodate the different shapes - and my OH enjoys the differing sensation they bring.
Now that isn’t unique to Fantasy toys, glass and metal (and any with non-standard shapes) have the same effect - but the fantasy aspect allows for a lot more creative license.
Me and my partner love them because of her obsession with fantasy books, she’s really into the “enemies to lovers” type stories and they have all sorts of creatures In them. One day she’s talking about shadow daddies and then it’s bat boys .. so the fantasy dildos can help us role play some of the scenarios
Mainly I prefer them because there’s more variety of shapes, colours and textures. I like the tentacle ones because they are a tapered shape. I’m not a fan of the bulbous heads and the ridge underneath it which is normal in most other dildos, I find them uncomfortable due to vaginismus and gender dysphoria. I also prefer my toys to look less like a penis, I love my OH’s but I don’t really want another one. I enjoy the textures to grind on too.
I find most of the fantasy dildos way too big. I don’t really have penetrative sex anymore but would like to build up to it soon. (I go through phases of being able to and not). I think there would be a market for smaller sized versions and maybe even mini versions for those of us who like the aesthetic but can’t use the large sized ones (this could be due to any number of reasons including vaginismus, vulval pain conditions, endometriosis, gender transitioning etc.)
As @Peitho said, a nice rumbly vibration would be a nice addition too.
I own only one, the big fire dragon. I really like the way it looks, the shape and the texture, but I admit I haven’t used it for its intended purpose yet, its size is quite intimidating… To be honest, I usually put it on my desk out of camera sight when I have a stressful day at work and just stroking it already calms me down I would love to see it in a smaller size though, would probably be less intimidating.
