FSOG trailer released

So the FSOG trailer has been released and it very tame! Some split second shots of blindfold, a whip, hanging cuffs and some impressive leather underwear can be seen but nothing compared to what most of us LH addicts own. Do we think the whole movie is going to be tame and more suggestive as to what mr grey is actually doing , or will they shock us by sexing it up?

I think they are going to tame it right down to get it out to a wider audience

They can only go so far because of film ratings and censorship. I honestly think it'll do well at the box office simply because of the hype to follow from the books, but will probably be a let down to watch.

It might be tame bv. My husband straight up asked me if there's going to be a lot of sex in it. Typical man response lol. There could be sexual scenes but probably (and hopefully) not like porno scenes on Pornhub or YouPorn.

I think it's that censorship that is a problem they make it an 18 and they lose some audience 15 and tamed down they have the teenagers who grew up with twilight paying to see it over and over....

I've been told they're making a version suitable for certificate 15, and an explicit version for the fans. There was a lot of backlash that it could have been too tame, so they decided to do two versions to make everyone happy.

I understand that the trailer would be tame, because it will probably be shown on TV, and any advertising feature won't show things in too much detail if it's explicit and being released to the public.

They had originally said it would be a adults only movie... So an 18 and above. Hope they stick to that.
After all the hype they cannot take it down to a 15! I know I wouldn't want my 15 yrs old kids or sister watching a movie based on the books. Even of the movie is tamed down then teenagers will be reading the book which is obviously a bit more detailed. I wouldn't want 15 years olds growing up thinking all sex involves whips and canes etc.

I might be out of place but I've said since casting was announced that I think the two main roles were not cast very well.

Personally I thought Christian Bale would have portrayed Grey brilliantly.

That might cost too much to make two different versions of the book, Mrs. Hopefully it's good enough to grab and still have our attention. I hate to see the book ruined on the film.

I think Both people cast for it are the wrong choice. But then again.... It's the sort of movie that could be career suicide if it was too sexy so I doubt too many big names auditioned for it

I'm not keen on the hight difference. Christian should be a lot taller, but I think he looks the part. I'm not sure on Ana, but I'll reserve judgement for now.

I agree BV but do you think big companies care about that or making money?

Personally I think Matt Bomer or Ian (plays Damon in Vampire Diaries) would portray Christian Grey wonderfully. Hehe

I agree Gem, but it's already made a fortune world wide, and there's no age restriction on who can buy the book. Chances are if they're going to watch the movie, then those 15 year olds might have already read the book anyway, and then the damage is already done. I do think that all books should come with age restrictions, they're just as damaging as movies, if not moreso because it's your own mind that helps set the scenes. Your mind is your own director and it can get inside you more than a movie can.

Are they squeezing all three books into one film? Or is that a stupid question? *feeling stupid now*

I don't know Amanda. I'm curious as well. It's not a stupid question.

Life lesson that I learned: There's no such thing as stupid questions because how do you think smart people got smart? They weren't born with it.

One book in film. It's a planned trilogy if first is successful.

Gem I don't know what to think. It's universal who are making it who are obviously a company with a big reputation for family movies. So will they take it down to be in keeping with there reputation or ensure it's kept an 18+ to stop a younger audience seeing it.

Only time will tell

Sorry not interested don't fancy the male lead so no interest there, hated the first three chapters of first book unreadable rubbish, I've got my crumpet for this year. 12th Doctor.

I havn't seen it yet :( is there somewhere online we can watch it?

The ones I have seen I find it hard to believe they're legit.
