Hi Mysteron, I do already take a good brand of probiotic and multivitimins. Thanks for the concern.
Im going to enjoy the next few days, then try very hard to stick to the new regime in the new year. My secret Santa bought me a big box of ferret Roche so I intend to have one each evening before bed with a cup of decaf coffee. We normally have chocolate or biscuits with coffee before bed. So this would be just a little sweet treat, but I will see how it goes. I might prefer not to have any at all.
Hi Rosy,
If you have the budget I'd recommend a Polar A360. Price depends on size and colour, but I'd say an average of £150. I've bought my OH one for Christmas after extensive research and it seems to be the best of a complicated market. You can sync it with Windows, iOS and Android, it's waterproof up to 30m (which none of the competition seem to be able to do!) so you can swim with it.
Additionally, if you don't move your ass for an hour, it tells you to get off it! It's actually called an activity reminder though. You can set calendar entries for exercise and it'll remind you at the correct time to do whatever you've scheduled. You can chose a list of regular activities which are always available on the watch itself, and you can add and remove for the list as you choose.
It tracks your sleep accurately and divides it into restful and restless. It does heart rate too. It tacks everything you do, so even if you walk to the kitchen and back it'll log it.

If you have an iOS or Android smartphone, I'd also recommend an app called MyFitnessPal. You use it to log your food diary and activity - which a fitness tracker will do automatically for you. You can scan the barcodes on your food to add it. The only downside is you have to be really disciplined to keep using it.
It works mind you - my OH has lost 4 1/2 stone in 18 months and I've lost 2 1/2. It might not sound like a lot over such a long period of time, but we've changed our relationship with food and a slow reduction in weight helps you keep it off.
Hope my ramblings are helpful!
I weigh in at over 18 stone, I'm over 5'10" though, ex rugby player so my legs are still extremely muscley even though I haven't been able to play since falling pregnant with my eldest.
I think my main change is going to have to be snacking. My appetite has increased dramatically over this year. More healthy snacks are going to have to be a must I reckon.

Musscley legs superb! A positive attribute I like .My Mrs is similar as we do a lot of walking.
For snacking just try different and more healthier things such as Apple slices and bits of fruit .I am a self confessed cheese nibbler and so I get the lighter varieties with Kerry Low being one of my favourites as it tastes great.
Disaster and Eek! Put on 3 pounds. I think its more the alcohol than the eating..Need to step up my work outs to daily until I have got it back off.

Don't be so hard on yourself. I know you don't want to slip back wards in terms of your weight, but relax a little, let yourself enjoy a few days then build back into your excersize. You have achieved so much, don't let it spoil your pleasure and relaxation. You know you can do it and you have the determination. I envy you so much.
Ok so I love this http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=37026 but my question is do I treat myself to it in the smaller size? It might not fit either my busm or my body.
Im hopeing to lose some weight in the new year, but I don't hold out much hope. There is about as much chance of me winning the lottery, but I'm buying a ticket, so there is always a chance.
So do I buy it hope it fits now?
But it hope to slim down to it?
Leave it in the hope I will lose some weight, and can buy a smaller size, maybe not even plus size, in the future?
Opinions welcome.
Mysteron may I ask what your start weight was? Or what your biggest clothes size was?
I know you have lost a lot. I need to, but I really REALLY struggle with my frame of mind with regards to food. How do you continue to eat and keep you head in a good place? Does excersize encourage you?
It depresses me. Honestly I cry really hormonally, there is no high from excersize ever, so I'm lacking motivation here too.

I started at 18 st 6 pounds at my largest .I was on the verge of 42 inch waste.
It took over 4 years with many set backs to the weight as at this morning which is 12 st 6 and 32 inch waist. I have also got quite pronounced abs and obliques i.e. a six pack. And will be developing my very top part i.e. pecs and biceps. next year with increased weight type workouts Basically I want to look really really good without a shirt on.and that is my New Years resolution. Something You will notice is that you will begin to appreciate your body more in the mirror as you progress.
If you can stick to that diet of yours I reckon you could get similar results in half the time and still do it safely .I reckon you can do it if others around you such as your OH and your work colleagues can keep supporting you. At the end of the process you will also look younger as well as like me some weight will come off your face. This has just happened with my Mrs so she has a new fella and me a new woman.
That Lovehoney body is something I am hoping to get for my Mrs for Valentine's day.. I would be tempted to buy yourself that now and will give you a target to aim for and perhaps try and fit it every week .
Just wanted to add the more you excersize the more you can eat. 2500 calories which is what an average guy needs to maintain we eight is a heck of a lot of food. When I do work out usually every other day ,I have the tv on in the bedroom and listen to the local and national news. That way you don't miss anything whilst working out. I would recommend that you lock yourself in the room when you excersise and keep it private. When you workout at home you can also wear what you want or as little as you want without it affecting others. For women I would choose a cotton baggy top and either an old pair of shorts or leggings. Trainers are a must if equipment is used as well. For summer if you have long hair a sweatband would also be ideal even if it looks silly. Have some spring water on hand at all times and for heavy workouts a protein shake is ideal.
Hmmm its a tricky one Fun Louise, its a stunning outfit though! It really depends on your shape I suppose. I dropped to 14st when I got married but I still had my bum. I quite like my bum so its not a problem that way. Even though I was 4 stone lighter I was still 16-18. I'm more of an 18-20 now but not even a full dress size difference because of my shape. Buy what you are comfortable with, if you can use it as an inspiration. You will do really well, I know you will!
Mysteron, can I ask how you are getting on with the piece of equipment you bought earlier in the year? The name of it has dropped out my head!
I have purchased a fitbit flex 2. I think having the ability to check my sleep, eating and movements will be handy.
Hi Rosy
The equipment you are referring to is the Wonder Core Smart. I think is good for guys but even better for gals. One of my neighbours down the road has bought one and every time I bump into her at the supermarket its always the topic of conversation.I think its really good for toning the tummy region ,bums, thighs ,triceps and biceps. I really hammer mine and have it permanently set on the highest setting. It's not unusual for me to do a minimum of 400 Sit ups in a single session. My personal best being 1000. I am really shredding my abs at the moment as my goal is near in that region,
I also use a pair of adjustable Dumbells I bought from Argos for my weight training. These form over half my work out in recent times.
Total outlay including a quality mat is around £120 .In this day and age I think its good value.
Rosy this might not help but I hope it does. I like you am 5'10" and dress size 18-20 (more20) and around 18st 7lbs, I'm not doing my start weight untill 1st Jan I hope we can help eachother, good luck.
I think when both of you ladies start ,weight will initially come off quite quickly. Good luck to you both and hope you both post your progress. 👗👗
I will post my progress but I know weight will not come off me fast if at all.
All my life my mother has eaten salad, sliming world weightwatchers ect, and she has struggles to lose any weight. She did lose 2 stone about 2 years ago, but within 6 months put it back on again. She cooks from scratch all the time doesn't have take away, alcohol or chocolate. She works part time and goes to the gym 2 times a week. I have seen her miserable about food all her life.
So my chances are slim. Like my mother I have tried all sorts of diets, I don't have a good relationship with food, it's oftern a reward or comfort. But I'm trying very hard to get my head in the right place. I do need to do this.
Just keep your goals realistic and I think you will be fine. I didn't end up with the body I have today over night . My Mrs is also losing weight slowly and has set her own goals with nothing to do with my influence. Her starting weight was 17st 7 and 6 months down the line she is 15st 12 .
Both of us have just taken the One You NHS quiz. It's the quiz that's been hilighted in the news today .
Both of us scored 8 out of 10. The drinking side goes against you and even if you are moderate drinkers like ourselves. If one is tee total then the score would be higher. Interesting but doesn't take into account if your over weight or not.

That's great your Mrs has done really well. My usual problem is I feel deprived of comfort food, coupled with never losing any weigh, I give up easily, my will power is weak. . . . Fortnight?
Sorry bad joke. I just really would love results like that. I'm 37 and have not been below 17st in . . . Years.
Mysteron, I have decided not to buy this now http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=37026
Im hoping to treat myself to it if and when I reach 18st. I think it's important to have rewards other than food, and I don't want to depress myself if it doesn't fit. So motivational aid, carrot!
