Historical Outfits

I have a real love of historical outfits, and wearing them (both in and out of the bedroom).

Does anybody else like historical clothes and if so wear do you get them.

I have made alot of my own items, including regency and Victorian underwear, stays and corsets.

I'm a big fan too, everytime a costume drama comes on telly I wonder where you can get them.

Unless you can find a stage customer shop online (I've never found one I'm afraid), I think the best way is to get some pictures of an outfit you like and then email some Chinese eBay people who make elaborate costumes already.

They can usually do that quite cheaply (less than £200 for something very very fancy). I got a wedding dress for less than £100 (including postage) that way and it's a proper flouncy number :-)

Not a big fan on historical clothing however, my weakness is corsets so show me any outfit from any era that involves wearing a corset and I will crave it!

I looooove corsets!! I've got far too many of them (a whole draw full!)

I've remembered the website I was trying to think of, fairy goth mother.

It's a completely different product range from lovehoney (before the lovehoney mods hit me with bricks). Surprisingly they don't specialise in Goth styled clothes, but Burlesque instead. Fabulous!

Oooh. Where is this? A variety of purposes that such knowledge would be useful for. :)

If you search eBay for something like "Prom dresses", then see which one's are from China (loads are!)

The Chinese are amazing at making clothes, even ad-hoc ones. ...and very cheaply.

I think this is very pretty:

Oh is it Mistress Cara in the photo? External Media I see she's modelling it in the photos below the main one. Only just had a proper look. She looks stunning External Media I know Elcano remarked how pretty she looks when he saw her Christmas profile pic External Media

Yea I bought that corset because the original picture was jaw dropping, but the corset itself was nothing like the one in the original photo! It does look delicious on our very own Mistress Cara, but not as Victorian as I would've liked!

As many people know my biggest fantasies are period drama/victorian era bodice ripping!!! I completely melt watching Colin Firth in his stunning outfits in Pride and Prejudice!

*sighs* ah period drama. On the bodice ripping topic though you reeeeeally have to pick your places. I have a corset with front fastenings which was worn to church on one occassion. My OH can undo it almost instantly so spent half the service making me very very nervous lol. Much amusement from a couple of the women afterwards.

Funny I wore a corset for a party at the vicorage last night.
