@Bonzo2020 cheers for that nugget i shall be searching the Internet for that as anything that kills the bloody stuff gets a thumbs up from me,is it very effective?
@Melody1 my stepdaughter has a little veg patch going this year as she wants to learn and follow in the footsteps of her late grandma who was a fantastic gardener with encyclopaedic knowledge of just about everything bless her. Stepdaughter is growing a few little tubs of strawberries of different varieties, rasps, tomatoes, peppers, some sort of peas and onions.

@pootle - love it.
Itās great. Donāt expect overnight success.
For example, if its long, cut quite a bit back and dispose of it.
With enough leaves remaining, wipe over leaf and stem if thick enough ( make sure itās not going to rain or get watered in next 24 hours )
Leave it to not only kill the green of the plant but work itās way down to the roots too.
Donāt rip it up too early
I grow bushes with berries for my breakfasts, I really care about it and use sprinkles and fertilizer, my fav is Miracle-Gro
Better now mother nature has watered it for a few days ![]()

Only tomatoes left here everything been scorched. Then starved of water ![]()
Weāve been having torrential rain showers and storms, so everything is a bit battered but looking alot greener
Iāve been working on my garden (when I say working, weāve been here 5 years and itās still a work in progressā
.)
Got a lovely rosemary bush and Iām sorting out a few sections so we can grow some lovely plants.
Weāve also got a tree at the back of the garden which is leaning more and more every month but it has wonderful purple buds so donāt want to get rid just yet.
Before the weather turns wet in a few days , been harvesting some potatoes and tons of tomatoes . Had to give some to several neighbors , a bumper crop . Those heirloom tomatoes are so much better than the hybrids . https://lovehoneyforum.com/t/images-to-share-in-topics/259586/345
My tomatoes are enjoying a last few days of sunshine to finally ripen them up
In short, left to be a wild natural habitat.
At this point the squirrels are stocking up on what left for the winter stash.
@Oldman Yum, those look good (from the photos topic)! ![]()
That is what I love about heirloom , they have been ripening for a good month and a half . The hybrids the last two years I would be lucky to get two dozen by the end of growing season and left with hundreds of green tomatoes . Tried the hang them up to turn red , maybe 5-10% did . A person can only make so much green tomato salsa .
My winter āgreen manureā is starting to come through, mustard and field beans.
The local farmers seem to be using mustard and clover too. Donāt know if they always have or iāve only just noticed since iāve been out walking more
