How does your garden grow

@Bonzo2020 cheers for that nugget i shall be searching the Internet for that as anything that kills the bloody stuff gets a thumbs up from me,is it very effective?
@Melody1 my stepdaughter has a little veg patch going this year as she wants to learn and follow in the footsteps of her late grandma who was a fantastic gardener with encyclopaedic knowledge of just about everything bless her. Stepdaughter is growing a few little tubs of strawberries of different varieties, rasps, tomatoes, peppers, some sort of peas and onions.
@Green_Eyed_Girl my lawns look bloody awful and it’s driving me nuts, it’s getting so bad i was gonna ask the neighbour if he’d come and start the mower for me until Mrs Pootle informed me they’d gone away for a long weekend!!! :confounded::confounded::confounded::confounded::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

@pootle - love it.
It’s great. Don’t expect overnight success.
For example, if its long, cut quite a bit back and dispose of it.
With enough leaves remaining, wipe over leaf and stem if thick enough ( make sure it’s not going to rain or get watered in next 24 hours )
Leave it to not only kill the green of the plant but work it’s way down to the roots too.
Don’t rip it up too early

I’ve been working on my garden (when I say working, we’ve been here 5 years and it’s still a work in progress:rofl:.)

Got a lovely rosemary bush and I’m sorting out a few sections so we can grow some lovely plants.

We’ve also got a tree at the back of the garden which is leaning more and more every month but it has wonderful purple buds so don’t want to get rid just yet.

Before the weather turns wet in a few days , been harvesting some potatoes and tons of tomatoes . Had to give some to several neighbors , a bumper crop . Those heirloom tomatoes are so much better than the hybrids . https://lovehoneyforum.com/t/images-to-share-in-topics/259586/345

My tomatoes are enjoying a last few days of sunshine to finally ripen them up

In short, left to be a wild natural habitat.

At this point the squirrels are stocking up on what left for the winter stash.

That is what I love about heirloom , they have been ripening for a good month and a half . The hybrids the last two years I would be lucky to get two dozen by the end of growing season and left with hundreds of green tomatoes . Tried the hang them up to turn red , maybe 5-10% did . A person can only make so much green tomato salsa .

My winter ā€˜green manure’ is starting to come through, mustard and field beans.
The local farmers seem to be using mustard and clover too. Don’t know if they always have or i’ve only just noticed since i’ve been out walking more
