Yes there has been a few times I’ve overlooked things in a guy and thought well I ain’t gonna find someone perfect so will need to make allowances and chances are this could be as good as it gets 
but then end up just trying to make excuses for them truly crap

The bar should not be on the floor. If someone doesn’t meet your standards and raise them for you, then they’re not for you. A tolerable level of unhappiness shouldn’t be the goal.

Indeed I’m starting to see this side more of late and thinking not to put up with anyone if they ain’t giving any real efforts back

If you think someone is stringing you along, drop them. Be utterly ruthless.
