if "size doesn't matter" why are practically all dildos big or huge?

Its rare to see a dildo under 6 inches with plenty of girth. If women dont always like their men big how comes 9inch dildos are the most common size

Saw something on this once; the basic answer is because the idea of bigger is tempting enough to part money. If you look at the ones that most people list as favorites though (at least from what I can see), those aren't the number 1 ratings.

I also seem to remember seeing something that 7.5 was the most frequently sold size. Perhaps someone can share the sales data from LH???

A lot of dildos are not bought by women...

I can only speak for myself, but I never buy toys larger than an average penis size. Stretching out my vagina just does not appeal to me.

Some people like to work things up gradually so they can take part in sexual activities such as fisting. I have got glass dildos that are quite large, but I can't put it all the way in, and I know I wouldn't get any pleasure from 9 inches! How do you know the average size is 9 inches? That seems awfully large. Also, some men and buy dildo's for anal play, which is different again.

Personally, for me size doesn't matter, sometimes huge ones just hurt too much to be enjoyable, but you could have a very small penis and know exactly how to use it and that would make you amazing in the bedroom. The g-spot is only a few inches inside a woman, so as long as it's not smaller than a few inches, what's the problem? Unless you don't know what you're doing....then that's a problem!

I hate it when men try and call out women for stating that size doesn't matter. Why would we say it if it wasn't true? It's not like I don't want to upset every person in the world that hasn't got a huge penis, I've never met them all, so I couldn't care less who's feelings I hurt if I told them otherwise. I hate how men concentrate so much on size, if they put the amount of time they do comparing penis sizes and measuring their man bits into researching how to please a woman they wouldn't be worrying about it in the first place.

First let me say I agree that most men worry for no reason about this; but as a guy I understand the compulsion. And it doesn't really matter what size we are, we still do it (some/most, not all). I am fine with mine now but for years my obsession caused me to really pay attention and compensate with foreplay and ensuring I knew MRS body, responses, likes/dislikes, etc. So in the end; my size is fine but the concern drove me to be a better lover. So it worked out for us.

Something else you said that reminds me of MRS statements over the years - guys that rely on size never develop technique.

Also, what I have come to figure out is it is not about the size but rather the fit. It has to just fit together. So my size is perfect - for MRS and me.

Same for me

Maybe the dildo designers are mostly men and assume that's what women want.

I don't even bother looking in that category anymore.

That's lovely to hear Cowboy. And I agree, nothing worse than a man who's been given a big penis, and thinks that's all he needs!!

Good question. Maybe the the people that make them think too much is better than too little.

I'd personally never buy anything bigger than my partner, infact, the only reason i've bought a 7 inch with a 5.5 girth is because i'm trying to get comfortable enough for my first time with my larger partner not to hurt!

I have two possible reasons but you will get them answered by the ladies here.

1. Because there isn't an excited uncontrollable bloke attached to it , shoving it and poking it places you might not want it.

2. Why have the same as what you can get from your OH's. Because size doesn't Allways matter look at how well bullets sell..

Looking forward to the answers.

I am a sex toy reviewer, which means that I happen to measure the length of all my sex toys so I can write about their dimensions and I have learnt over the years and many many insertable sex toys, that I can only insert 6 to 7 inches inside me...AT THE MOST. Seriously. At that point it is hitting my cervix. I own about 30 dildos and can't say the most common size is 9 inches. Almost all of mine are between 6 and 8 inches, most being 7. Another point to note is that most of mine measure between 3.5 to 5.6 in circumference. I think you may have stumbled across the super large section to assume most are 9 inches...and thats assuming women buy 9 inchers. I wouldn't, as 3 inches would be wasted and I could not sit on it or thrust with 9 inches.

From what I have gathered...larger dildos are more marketed towards males? In general...not always, but I know the largest of Tantus toys are for the males. I think size is a guy issue. From hanging around on these forums and being among lots of other sex toy reviewers, I notice it is more common for guys to go the size queen way, for anal stretching, that it is for women to want to experience stretching (vaginal or anal) of course, there are exceptions to every rule, we are all different.

Said it before and will say it again, if a woman says size doesnt matter, she means it. If you don't trust or believe them to be telling the truth then this is more to do with your own insecurities and focus, than the honesty of woman kind. x

I just measured my forearm and it came up at 8.5 inches. I think that says it all. I havent seen many women comfortably use a dildo longer than their forearm. lol

Kudos Fluffbags, spot on answer

My forearm?! That would hurt so bad!!!

Tell you what though....I am totally in awe of those men and women who can take those super large dildos. You guys are the rock stars of dildo sex! Put it this way, if you have taken super Victor...I bow down to you! lol.

Exactly! This is the main point....vaginas have a limit. This is scientific fact. Vaginas vary in depth. 6 inches is my limit before my cervix is reached, even when aroused and I don't think I am abnormally shallow. Vaginas have a roof! lol The other entrance though...the back door, does not have a roof as such and I have seen some eye watering evidence in porn to verify that the back door can take so much more in terms of length and even girth. lol
