But how would you know that they didn’t have their hearing aids in? Concrete and stone can be soundproof, but hard surfaces can also create echoes and amplify the sound. It’s definitely possible that being in a shared flat is a factor.
It’s also possible that spending all day with other people leaves your wife emotionally exhausted so she’s simply not in the mood for sex.
Our friends left for home two days ago. We had the flat to ourselves. We spent the day by ourselves, enjoying some sightseeing and food.
On other occasions when we have been either traveling with friends or staying with relatives, we have sometimes made a game out of having sex and trying to be quiet. Face it, everyone is an adult, who sometimes have sex. It shouldn’t surprise anyone. Anyway, we enjoyed our day alone, and are a bit tired from travel. Yesterday was grueling, and were settled into a nice hotel where we might enjoy some snuggle time. There have been a lot of times we have had sex, even when we were exhausted, so it can be done.
You are still coming across as defensive and unwilling to listen.
For some women, privacy around sex is really important to them. Some women are uncomfortable having sex if they think there’s a chance that they could be heard and if there’s any chance of someone opening the door without knocking then that will be a big worry for them. It might seem irrational, but maybe your wife just doesn’t want her best friend knowing how often you have sex.
Of course, the above could be nothing to do with it, and it could be that because you’re away on holiday and in an unfamiliar environment that your wife finds it difficult to properly relax and get in the mood for sex. Or it could be that she doesn’t feel sexy because she’s in a different climate and she feels too hot or too cold, or it’s too humid or too dry. Ultimately, the only person who can tell you for certain is your wife.

I am not being defensive or unwilling to listen. And as I stated we have often had sex when around others, of course in our own privacy. From what I read from you, a woman could use any excuse, like it’s the wrong phase of the moon, or some other obscure reason to avoid having sex. I know my wife and she is not that shy. And, between the two couples, I would expect them to be making happy quicker than us, they are that kind of folks.
