Recently, as many of you know Lovehoney have moved from RoyalMail to My Hermes…

With past experience of My Hermes, I am unsure about Lovehoney using them as My Hermes have a nasty habit of just leaving parcels in my open porch (nobody wants their Lovehoney parcels to be left in the porch for anyone to see or pickup)

I want to hear your experiences with Hermes since Lovehoney started using them, are they the same ie crap or have they improved.

When I look at tracking on two of my Lovehoney parcels it does say next day delivery, which I didn’t know they did…In my experience Hermes have always been probably 2 - 3 days delivery.

Yes I did select the 1 - 2 day delivery option on both of my Lovehoney orders, so I am hoping that they arrive both at the same time.

Whats your opinions of the service so far? Good or bad?

This topic was covered quite extensively here šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ LoveHoney now using hermes

I just read the local Hermes guy did a total mess up to someone in my area, person was out but Hermes didn’t leave it in the instructed safe place, instead he put it in the bin and the person not knowing it would be in the bin unfortunately lost the parcel as it was rubbish day. :open_mouth:

Just an on-going update on Hermes…despite my hatred of them…with orders in respect to Lovehoney - i’ve had about 4 deliveries since the switch and to be honest its been a day earlier delivered than if it was with RM each time…and always just dumped on my doorstep…so I have no complaints really.

The only different with RM was my postie always puts it down the side of our house if we’re not in (covering with a tarp etc)

I can’t help thinking that the answer to all of our Hermes related issues is to get to know your courier if possible.
Those I’ve spoken to seem to work and cover the area around where they live so if you’re lucky, as we most definitely are, you will get the same person every time.
Our courier is a lovely lady who’s always got a smile and time for a quick chat, which usually includes the obscene number of parcels she has to deliver that day for not a lot of recompense.
She called once while we were away and not knowing, and thinking she was doing us a favour, hid a fairly expensive cosmetic set in one of the recycling bins only for our kindly neighbour to put them out for collection before we got back!!!
Needless to say, we never got them but didn’t have the heart to claim against Hermes because it might have got her into trouble. She was mortified when we told her but laughs about it with us now.
She’s now very careful about where she hides things! :joy::joy::joy:

I now have three parcels in this category, two from LH and one from an online book store

I think mine must live in Scotland, I live near Birmingham

Well today I bit the bullet and placed another order, I abandoned the blue babydoll for just now and instead went with a position wedge and some jiggle balls!

I’m hoping that I’ll receive tracking information sooner this time around and therefor can ensure I’m home for the delivery slot.

If everything goes well maybe I’ll return for the babydoll at a later date…

We all know the tracker function from all of the companies is crap so …
I have had a number of packages go missing over the past few months (even had one turn up weeks later ripped open after I had got a refund).
Bought something from another site last week, RM sent me an email to say when it would be delivered and just clicked to change delivery to local post office to be picked up and there we go.
What happened to delivery companies leaving a slip saying they had tried to deliver a package but no one was in and giving you details of how to collect it?

That assumes Hermes try to deliver
Still no sign of my three orders- will contact customers services if they are not here by Monday. I don’t think Hermes actually deliver to my postcode

I received a tracking email from RM yesterday morning to say that my parcel was out for delivery, no signature required, select your safe place if you’re not going to be in etc!
That implies it’s in the hands (or at least the bag) of a post person.
Two hours later I got another email stating ā€˜sorry, we’ve been unable to deliver your parcel today and will attempt to deliver it on the next working day.
I’m not quite sure how you would ā€˜attempt’ to deliver something. You either do or you don’t :man_shrugging::man_shrugging:

I did used to frequently catch Parcel Force putting the slip through the door without knocking in the past.
Still, at least if they put the slip through the door then you know someone has been and you can go and collect when convenient (years ago it took me so long to collect a LH parcel from the sorting office they returned it).

On a similar theme…once had a regular monthly delivery via City Link. The depot was a couple of miles away, so if ever i was out, it was easy to collect myself.
Then they moved the depot from the original town to the next town, still the same distance away from me, but as the new depot was classed as Walsall not Wolverhampton, if i was out the parcel was sent to Shrewsbury, a 60 mile round trip! So i cancelled that courier and used Business Post.

At work we used to have a daily delivery by DPD, between 9am and 10am, one van with about 6 large boxes.
Now we have between 3 and 4 vans all turn up together with the delivery split between them, all from the same depot. I have no idea how that is efficient or progress!
So Hermes are not the only problematic courier!

Attempt to deliver.

If they deliver to an office, office complex for example, when reception is closed, only open weekends, or, from 9 to 5 for example.

Not just LH deliveries, or Hermes.

My last LH, somehow picked up my alternative delivery address, PayPal possibly, got delivered to my office address. In Oxford. Since removed it from my addresses. Luckily it was a Friday afternoon, when they are open.

I ordered a new garage hoover recently along with a box of replacement dust bags, both from the same manufacturer and supplier.
They were delivered separately on the same day, by the same courier but by two different guys, one in the morning and one in the afternoon!
Brexit, COVID or just plain inefficient, who knows!!! :man_shrugging:

My latest order. Placed on the 7th (ok - there was a glitch and I didn’t get an order confirmation email) dispatched from LH to Hermes same day, email from Hermes yesterday saying I’d get a timeslot today, email arrived this morning and parcel delivered bang on time. Maybe I’m just lucky, as have had no issues since the changeover?

And no. I don’t own any shares in Hermes…

We have now had 3 deliveries from Hermes since the recent swap over

As a positive they are being received a day earlier than Royal Mail will have previously delivered.

Negatives are unlike royal mail where I was receiving an email as soon as parcel was in the network, which allowed us to delay or rearrange delivery if not suitable, Hermes just seem to be when with local courier on the actual day of delivery .

Also with Hermes they seem to ignore the safe place details entered and just leave on front doorstep. It will be interesting to see what lovehoney will do should parcels go walkabout before we manage to get home each day. Is that our problem or would they redeliver at their expense?

Still no sign of my orders , ten days later or any communication from Hermes
Thanks to Holly on customer services for resending via Royal Mail next day delivery.
My local post lady delivered ahead of time, knocked the door, waited for me to answer and greeted me with her normal cheery smile
