I know this time of year there’s always a lot of talk about swim wear, so apologies if I’m going over old ground. My wife has bought me a gorgeous thong swimsuit that she loves the look of me wearing and is keen for me to be bold and wear it on the beach on our up and coming UK holiday. The beaches we go to each year have plenty of females with thong style swimwear even though they are family beaches. I would love to wear the thong as it is lovely to wear it in the garden and in our pool. But I don’t want to make others feel uncomfortable but I do want to be true to myself. What do you all think?

Nothing wrong with it, plenty of EU places and men seem to wear that on beaches
I wish I was brave enough to as I wear thongs on the daily but sadly I wouldn’t be brave enough to wear publicly on a beach

Maybe wear it on a nudist beach and then that way it’ll be like your too over dressed lol

My husband wears thongs most of the time as underwear now but doesn’t have a swim thong. As much as he likes wearing them now he would not want anyone to know!

@Newbiejen I wear most thong underwear as well and not to many people know I wear them. I have never have worn a swim thong on its own , though I have worn a thong under my board shorts. Some of my thong underwear could double as swimwear, so they work great for that, dry quick , comfortable, and I can still wear a thong without people knowing. I guess it would be cool to try on its own, but would have been really secluded and some drinks and encouragement from the gf. Lol!

I didn’t think about wearing it under swim shorts, that might be one step towards being brave enough to take shorts off! I started wearing speedos on the beaches we go to at my wife’s request, and suddenly there was other blokes wearing them there the next day, almost like they had seen one person in them and that gave them confidence to do that themselves. I guess the same principle might work with the swim thong.

Find a quieter part of the beach and wear the thong to show off what you’ve got. It’d be rude not to given that your wife has bought it for you and is keen for you to wear it on the beach.

I agree with @Love_Wasp and others, you should definitely give it a go. I wear a swim thong sometimes, as I have mentioned on other topics about swimwear, and get pleasure from doing so.
As has been suggested, a good place would be a quieter spot, which is what I do. As you say, many women wear swim thongs, and so I think it’s good to enjoy doing so as well. Make the most of it while you can. If it gives you pleasure, go ahead!

!! NO !! Mens thong swimwear is just WRONG..it is never a good look even on a Greek god figure…( Budgie smugglers are terrible as well)
A pair of well fitted shorts or nothing at all.
I go to a mostly ( vast majority) nudist beach and seen guys in thongs … ridiculous idea to think any guy could look good in one…might as well go the whole ridiculous hog and wear a Mankini.
Hopefully that is clear enough.

Nah - forever and always will be a decent pair of shorts, in my opinion of course. I cant ever see me wearing anything other than swimshorts…especially in public. Each to their own though, you must have a preference for them to be considering it
@jr850 He says he would wear a swim thong if we were at a private villa or something in the middle of nowhere!

Always swim shorts, i just think thongs on men look a bit naff.
read the beach. A thong may be a bit too much (or actually a bit too little). In US so speedo are not really worn and thongs only on a few beaches. I would read the beach. I do like wearing a speedo, but my wife is not a fan. But hell - do what you want.

At the end of the day, the opinion that matters most is your wife’s. If she wants you to do it - and she clearly does - and you’re OK with it personally, I reckon don’t worry about other beachgoers. Each to their own happiness. I don’t judge others for what they wear to the beach.

Bit of an update if anyone’s interested or indeed wondering if the world would end or fragile souls might be profoundly affected. The wife and I found a quiet spot on the beach and I wore my swim thong. It was rather lovely for me to find the confidence to do it. Swimming whilst wearing it felt divine and my wife kept insisting on applying extra sun screen to the cheeks 
a few blokes looked and gave an amused smile. A sea gull screeched and flew off. But apart from that it was a lovely experience and if you’re that way inclined I highly recommend. I was the only male in a thong but there was plenty of women of all shapes and sizes enjoying their thong swim wear, so in these days of equality, go for it I say
