Nail polish - chit chat

Doing your nails while in a towel with your hair wet and up is classic pampering routine. I know some people do theirs in the bath too.
Not me (i prefer showers :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:) but its probably more common than you think.
If in doubt, you could always jam a towel on first. Then at least you can answer the door in more than your birthday suit.

True - but then I wouldn’t be naked, so it wouldn’t feel the same! :grin:

Actually, since I posted this, I’ve been pondering the psychology of it, and I’ve realised that there might be a slight kink element going on after all. I’m a submissive, right? And I have no partner (sob), so who’ve I got to dom me? Nobody …but, with wet nails, I am being forced to submit to staying naked until they dictate it’s over. I’m effectively being dommed by my own nail polish. Teehee! :laughing:

Ah botheration. Just discovered essie do almost exactly the same pale purple and mint blue as my rimmel ones i love, just without the wide brushes that drive me to distraction :scream_cat:
I want them, but i cant just chuck half a bottle unless its got gloopey. Even if the brushes make me swear every time i use them.

Thank you. It’s Essie, will check the shade x

They do such nice polish, that red (very office chic) is super. Cant believe i never came across them before i started reading the polish thread

Have you considered trimming half the width out of your Rimmel brushes? A scalpel or maybe a pair of nail clippers should do it. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve literally just used a rimmel polish and i see what you mean about the brushes :joy: when they get approved I’ve put a pic of my latest attempt up (it helps me focus and helps my coordination so it’ll hopefully help my viva)

Annoyingly, not all the rimmel stuff seem to have the purportedly “60 second” brushes that mean it take me about twice as long to do my nails. They are a pain though (maybe my nails are just the wrong size xD )

I don’t think it’s just your nails based on how much more I’ve messed up onto skin with the 60 second brush compared to the other :joy: Edit: thinking about it, maybe that kind of brush shape is designed more for false nails? Those tend to have a more uniform shape

@JC94 thank you.
My feet being so small, if I cut nails short they look like 10 year old girl feet :smile:

@Ace12345 - both colours work really well on you, but I can see why you’re so keen on the green. Good application skills, too - very neat job! :slightly_smiling_face:

If you don’t mind me asking… is there any particular reason you keep your nails trimmed so short? If that’s the way you like 'em, fair enough - it’s not my place to tell you what to do with your own body - but I can’t help feeling they’d look even better if you let them grow a bit more. It’s just me, I guess: whenever I see a nail that’s cut much shorter than the skin of the finger, I kinda go “ouch!” inside.

Speaking for myself, I keep mine short (similar to @Ace12345) purely because of work. Constant hand washing has really done a number on my hands in general. I’d like to keep mine pretty with lovely polishes but due to h&s/infection control we’re not allowed polish :frowning:

I keep mine a little longer as I like to pick my nose.
