I’ve no idea, but from what I’ve experienced so far, the answer seems to be lots. Even with using two coats and doing occasional spruce-ups, I haven’t run out of any of my colours yet.
I did hope I’d get through it a bit quicker than that so I could buy more colours, but I suppose I could just be greedy?
I find mine go too gloopy to use any more, a long time before they run out.
So, I’d buy cheap and stack 'em deep!
@Ian_Chimp - Where on earth did you get the quaint idea that you need to use one colour up before buying another? There is no such thing as having too many bottles of nail polish!
Is this not an eco-thing? Or are beauty products exempt?
(I also have very little clue about eco things )
I’m guessing you’ll find the production of nail polish and its ingredients isn’t very eco-friendly.
My Granny taught me a ‘buff and polish’ method for naturally fab nails.
I’m going to return that, as, much I loved my glittery stick-ons today, half of them fell off when I tried to cook and flick switches in the kitchen.
Shame - OH was quite keen when he saw them - not sure how 6 / 10 will go down…
Basically, they lasted about 3hrs…
Sorry, I’ve been lurking but I know something that may help with this! If you add a drop or two of nail varnish remover it will revive your nail polish.
I think non acetone is best, but I’m not sure it really matters. Pop a drop or two in, give it a shake and voilà, good as new
Thats been my experience after receiving the tip at a nail salon. Please don’t hunt me down if it ruins your polish lol
I think they are slightly outdated now, but I wonder if any of you who are new to polish have seen the crackle effect ones? They can be fun!
Ooh i might have to try that, I’ve had some polishes for years and they’re going gloopy too. And yeah I’ve seen crackle nails, they do look nice though i have no idea how to do them
I had a few back in the day when I worked briefly at a beauty wholesalers. I think the gist is, you have one as a bottom coat and then when applying the top colour/coat it then cracks leaving the bottom coat visible. Give it go!
The NPs I desperately wish I could try are the Holo Taco brand from the USA. They’re holographic, and the effects they create are jaw-dropping. Alas, they’re not available from any UK dealers, and importing them is both expensive and impractical. They’re not cheap even in the USA, and once you add shipping and customs duty… forget it!
Ah i can imagine how bad that is, I’ve gone to order stuff that seems reasonably priced before and then they add on tax and shipping and the price doubles. I think i might order some more normal polish once I’m home (my uni has a dodgy post system and it’s bad enough my parents are bringing up my lovehoney orders for me )
Oh crikey!
I’ve just stumbled across lots of pretty Rimmel colours on Amazon for £3 or less each.
So much pretty Trying to resist buying for my toes!
Resist? What is this word?
Yeah they’re bringing up all most post which does include 3 lovehoney orders along with other miscellaneous stuff I’ve impulse bought online
you haven’t seen my LH order history resist is not usually a word in my vocabulary however I never actually bother with my toes… it’s just an excuse to buy pretty things that won’t get used and I’m getting better at not doing that!
Thank goodness for anonymous packaging! …although I sometimes wish that LH packaging could have misleading branding on it to make it look more “explicable”. Mind you, that could also make things worse…
To be fair I’m probably already suspicious seeing as before lovehoney i used to open all my packages downstairs
Sorry, folks, I have run out of likes, but I’m liking all the posts above!
My stick on nails have all fallen off apart from 3 - not a good look.
My teen says to use the glue rather than the sticky patches, if that info is of use to anyone.
Now - painting toe nails. That has my attention…
I’ve done mine, since they’re further away it doesn’t matter as much if you mess up as it still looks good
