Two people having a snog. Wow that's just the limits of filth really. The fact that you will probably see and hear more 'rude' things in the programming on the same show before 9pm never bothers people though.

I think the real 'shocker' is that the commercial shows that nice professional couple next door enjoying intimacy as part of their routine, normal day. The photo advert is the kind of thing any number of commuters are probably thinking about too. :-) Normal, normal, normal. So completely and utterly normal.

Maybe that's the problem. It's not safely quarantined into the realms of scandalous celebrities and airbrushed pop stars. Is hot married sex finally coming out of the closet? :-)

Rose Hip - now calm down with this silly talk. Everyone knows married people don't have sex ;-)

I actually went to comment on the Daily Fail article, but then they wanted me to register, and I couldn't bring myself to foul my e-mail by being a part of their database. ^_^

I am honestly shocked by the number of people who think their kids seeing a kiss will make them 'too worldly' or 'over-sexed'. Honestly, what kind of deprived households have kids that have never even SEEN a kiss?!? That's tantamount to neglect, in my book: I kiss my daughter all the time, and I kiss my man in front of her. And I have yet to see her break out the hooker boots. Fucking nutcases.

I mean, if the kids are that young that hearing the word "sex" or seeing a kiss and a coy glance are too much for them, then why aren't they locked into CBeebies, when the likes of Jeremy Kyle and Hollyoaks will be on right after that 'horrifying' advert? You can't let your child watch swearing and violence and sexually explicit material, and then whine that the advert in the midst of all that 'too worldly' programming is showing a bloody kiss!

Very well put BB, the Daily Fail is at least the most vile paper ever!!!

By the reckoning of the comments regarding the advert I am damaging my kids every time I kiss my husband which is madness!!! I have had to turn over far worse than that on MTV to protect my children from overly sexual music videos, my twins are nearly 5 and eldest is 10 so still on the young side in my opinion for them but I would not think twice about letting them watch the advert. Why is it so wrong to want to have a great sex life? Why should adults not be informed about all aspects of great sex? Why should we all conform to a prudish view of sex? Arghhhh arghhhh arghhhh and breathe :)

Thing is, Lovehoney are incredible with their services so most users recommend them on anyways. I think it will get more people talking about Lovehoney.....

There will always be controversy but Lovehoney nailed it in how to market the site. =]

As for the forums and "trolls". I really think they'll be in for a shock at how sex toys can accompany intimacy and love. I quite like this comment-

Love is dead because of this industry.......The sex toy people can go **** themselves

The point is we will **** ourselves lol. And as for cold, hard and mechanical they obviously don't know all that lovehoney has to offer. The reviews and customer response speaks volumes over these naive comments. I find almost all the toys to be potentially couple friendly. If it makes us inhuman to want to please our partners and ourselves... then yeah... erm ok?

exactly. great ad. well done Love honey.

OMG what a terribly sexual and inappropriate advert! I mean there were all kinds of horrible graphic content all over the screen! What a load of bollocks! The advert is extremely soft and it's pretty damn obvious to anyone that views it!

I mean just look at a bloody Rihanna or Gaga video being played at any time during the day and decide which one is more sexual and reaches a larger young audience!

fecking people grrr... /rant

Did Stephen Green see a different advert to me or am I such an innocent that I didn't see the deep-seated perversion in it that he managed to find? Does he, perhaps, object to them being so sex-obsessed that they got married and live together. Hell, maybe they will be procreating next - obscene or what!

If you check out his website he seems to be the sort of extremist that makes the jesussaid.org outfit (whose adverts triggered the atheist bus campaign) look like a liberal-minded, easy-going bunch.

Is a good advert, not to rauchy but gets the point across.

:) any more adverts on the go for telly?

Bravo Lovehoney!, enjoyed the advert, it's very good. I read through some of the comments on the Daily Fail's website but got so annoyed with their typical narow-minded, biggoted readership's comments that I soon gave up. Compared to how much sex appears on the TV, in films, book, advertising hoardings etc. this advert is completely tasteful..

Bravo Lovehoney, more power to your elbow and your batteries!.

Kind regards

Oh and a great spoof Paco Rebanne perfume ad here:

A new poll about the ad is up on the blog. http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/blog/ =]

So now ITV2 and MTV wont show it before 9pm (just got email offering 10% off everything, god I love you guys even more now xxx). One word sums it up hypocrisy!!! Does that mean MTV will stop showing overly sexual music videos, which I do not have a problem with myself but in relation to the Lovehoney advert some of them are verging on porn, before 9pm??? Grrrr grrrr grrrr, numpties of the highest order in my opinion!!!

embarrasing edit!!!

Sorry its ITV2 and SKY, but my point still stands even though my rant was aimed at the wrong channel, gonna dig a hole and hide there for a few days!!!

Eek, I only just put an order through this afternoon! >.<

I love the advert :D !

I have to admit, I did find it rather bad that there's an advert for Lovehoney on TV. But that's nothing to do with the kissing. Jeez, that's softcore compared to what I have now remembered of certain music videos. It was because it's advertising Lovehoney. Don't get me wrong, I'm completely fine with it now considering I have now remembered how bad the TV is, since I rarely ever watch it. It's just the fact that children could decide to search about Lovehoney and come accross this website. But I guess it doesn't matter at all because of all the trash that's on the TV nowadays. Ohhh, I still revel in delight of my innocent days when I was excited to see another episode of Digimon.

I do think the advert was well made: it was simple and it wasn't overly sexual. Though even if it was overly sexual, it wouldn't matter at all since we seem to get a lot of those adverts already. I find it sad though how people are protesting against it. They just appear to be so narrow minded and don't realise what sexual happiness really is.

And now it's time for me to say I was actually impressed, as soon as I saw it, that Lovehoney made an advert. I still am, and I think it's a great move. It makes sexual happiness seem less of a taboo than it is now. Considering that there are people who are delighted to call others a 'slut' for having sex with someone. It is a bold step, and I hope it makes those ignorant people open their eyes.

I love the advert . I think it makes you want to learn more about LH!

I like the advert but felt a bit uncomfortable about how long they were kissing LOL but then I have public displays of affections issues!!

Overall it'll be a storm in a teacup - people will rant for a little while and then they'll accept it.

I have to be honest - I think the advert is a bit weak.

However - I understand that Lh *had* to err on the side of caution with being on before the watershed and the advert absolutely fulfills the requirement in that respect. The advert is classy, it does send the the right message and it focuses on the couple aspect of Lh which is exactly what was needed.

It's a shame some people just love an argument so much and have been so hateful towards and advert that is 1) on channels kids rarely watch and 2) about the tamest thing on tele but you know, some people just enjoy getting their blood pressure worked up don't they! Really I think the website shouldn't be taboo and neither should sex toys be - if approached in the right way which I completely trust Lh to do. I also think people are completely misguided when they say (as many people do) that you shouldn't *need* sex toys - no probably not need, but it's always fun to add something new ;).

Overall, I'm proud of Lh for pushing the boundaries, pleased they were given the opportunity to be on before the watershed and happy that it's getting people talking!

Well done!

The advert isn't distasteful, it isn't reviling, it’s fine. Technically, it meets the requirements of day time TV ads.

What is the problem? The ad is nice!
