it's getting people talking!
Think therein lies the genius of it. As the "first advert for sex toy retailers" being aired, it's getting publicity by virtue of that alone; by the same token, people are up in arms because something something THINK OF THE CHILDREN! and 'advertising' it further; and throughout it all, LH can just sit there, flutter her anthropomorphic lashes innocently, and go "who, me? but I never did anything distasteful!". A fair chunk of folk now broadcasting the brand's name have never even seen the ad - as shown by the number of people who talk about 'pornographic imagery' and 'violence' when referring to it - and there was always going to be this hoopla whteher they flashed the brand name in silence for thirty seconds, or had a full porno going in the background, so why not take advantage of that and allow yourself to take the moral highground at the same time?
The advert isn't an advert, it's the spark for a viral campaign, and it's doing a damn fine job! At least that's how I see it. :) Not that I'm a cynic or nuffink. ;)
