New LoveHoney Advert!

Aired tonight :) http://mediaweek.co.uk/news/1095395/First-sex-toy-ad-run-during-daytime-TV/

Keep your eyes peeled on MTV, ITV2, E4 and Living!
Also, this guy gets the wrong end of the stick: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/8792724/Comment-Pornography-has-no-place-in-our-culture.html

My response: http://www.mr10sextoys.com/2011/09/over-sexualised-society.html

What do all of you think about the nes advert? Exciting news? A brave new step? Too much?

Couldnt get your link to work but I did find this http://www.youtube.com/user/LovehoneyTV?blend=10&ob=5#p/u/0/hh_FuX-gi2U on youtube, says it goes live 3rd oct ITV2 at 10.15am cant wait :)

I actually got the link working and I dont see it as offensive, there are no explicit scenes in it, no toys showing... Nothing.

One problem is that we do view sexuality as something well... Rather still disgusting and something which should be hidden. And I doubt we are more sexual than over ancestors, honestly. I saw some items from the 17-18 centry England, including a cup in shape of erect penis. Although these are things the public never gets to know simply because its disgusting to even mention it anywhere. Also there was an exhibition showing sexual items for last hmmm 10,000years? if we think we changed that much, we are wrong. We just talk a bit more about it, and it is easier to get your hands on sex toys, still... Sex being shut down as something offensive may even do a bit harm, I think.

Hello! I wouldn't say it's a new look exactly - more of a freshening up of the major overhaul we had earlier this year. It's designed to fit in with our first national ad campaign, rolling out from next week. So it ties in with our magazine ads (Cosmo, Company to name but two), underground ads in London, some online stuff and our TV ad, which is proving a tad controversial. Even though it's just a married couple kissing. (Sighs)

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, good and bad, we really do appreciate it and read everything!

The Prof

Thats it? wow so horribly sexual worth a note here it says nothing about what they sell but does show lovehoney paving the way once more.

The only thing i'm not looking forward to is the trolls we will get on the forum due to the publicity generated by the ad!

This is fantastic, I don't know why but I feel quite proud of Lovehoney! I love the sexier life campaign and a TV ad is fantastic!

ZOMG! Married people getting it on? Well, got it on. Maybe that morning. Or the night before. Both is my guess. They don't do that, only single people are allowed to enjoy sex on telly. Anything else is just unnatural.

;-)

Love the ad.

Gotta say i'm impressed with the Ad, very slick and professional! I would say it's far less offensive than the majority of perfume or underwear ads.

This is exactly the kind of commnt I would expect from ChristianVoice, they're a very conservative group from what i've read of their comments to date and all of their comments I find offensive to common sense; but each to their own, and each may have their voice (as long as they don't try to force it on to others).

I quite like the ad and as C630 has said it does show Lovehoney paving their way into mainstream media. It's a shame that so many people know of the "Ann Summers" brand but Lovehoney, who offers so much more is left in the dark outside of the net.

I think the "trolls" will be pleasantly surprised, Kasumi. Lovehoney's top quality. =]

The ad isn't seedy at all which is probably what was expected; like the usual sexy provocative lingerie etc. I think the snippet of Lovehoney and their catchphrase is enough to get people curious.

It leaked a little earlier than expected... you can see the full advert here.

It's on the Daily Mail site... some interesting comments!

most of the comments are good comments, but you are bound to have some prudish people out their that just do not understand, i swear some people think the only time you should have sex is when you want a baby!!

Arghhh the Daily Fail at its best!!! The more column inches devoted to debating the rights and wrongs of advertising this site the more people who hear about it and can make their own minds up rather than being dictated to by a bunch of out of date reporters!!!

I think what you guys are doing is great and its a huge step away from the sleezy image Ann Summers created all those years ago, well done and keep up the amazing work xxx

Where are the statistics about male's using toy's or are they to terrified to even think of such a thing? hahahaha bunch of tossers who can't get any as usual taking it out on anything to do with sex why do they not just join in the revolution?

And as Tracey Cox said the music video's put the advert to shame.

Two people having a snog. Wow that's just the limits of filth really. The fact that you will probably see and hear more 'rude' things in the programming on the same show before 9pm never bothers people though.

Very professional , slick , charming and not in your face enough to get people to have a look.

I think business will really pick up after this. What happens to the forum will be interesting.

I should have said it's a good teaser. Lots of people will be curious and the front page is quite tasteful as well.

I think the front page should have in big letters ' don't worry , you're normal and no it's not disgusting'. :-)

yes agree with everything you say Bigpoppa and hope they do get a lot of business from it, but im bit worried as to the forum side of things, will you start getting lots of trolls and odd ones

This is a perfect statement xxx

Thing is, Lovehoney are incredible with their services so most users recommend them on anyways. I think it will get more people talking about Lovehoney and no doubt more good stuff. So beyond the initial "Omg, ew sex toys!" it will subtly become more "acceptable" in public.

There will always be controversy but Lovehoney nailed it in how to market the site. =]

As for the forums and "trolls". I really think they'll be in for a shock at how sex toys can accompany intimacy and love. I quite like this comment-

Love is dead because of this industry, self pleasure is the new love. If you think that sex toys and pleasure can long term replace intimacy and love, you are in for a rude awaking. Like the product, cold, hard and mechanical. Inhuman. The sex toy people can go **** themselves

The point is we will **** ourselves lol. And as for cold, hard and mechanical they obviously don't know all that lovehoney has to offer. The reviews and customer response speaks volumes over these naive comments. I find almost all the toys to be potentially couple friendly. If it makes us inhuman to want to please our partners and ourselves... then yeah... erm ok?
