I saw something on social media that has reposted this news with the comment…
“And in the same vein, Spotify bans music and YouTube bans videos.”
Made me chuckle. I really think Only Fans is shooting themselves in the foot. I know they started off as a general platform but it definitely feels like they’ve taken advantage of sex workers who have helped them build their platform and are now dropping them.
Yeah! I thought about making an account for a while and went ‘if they are enjoying doing it, I want to support!’ I was so shocked at how many women I had crushes on were on it!
Someone I knew found out I had an account and asked me to post but it’s just not me, I’ve never really been into taking nudes, I have a few from a few years ago that I love so I have them saved, but only my partner has seen them!
I loved the concept of OF, it was a way for women to express themselves and be creative, and good on the women who have worked hard to get a fanbase and make money out of it, I love your attitude towards it, it’s a fun thing to do, and if you make some money, even better! Keep doing you!
People need to remember that OnlyFans isn’t the be all and end all, it is but one place to publish, market, sell and earn. The majority of my OnlyFans subscribers would come after I’d sold them underwear from another site. I’d then send them a link to my OnlyFans and give them a free 1 month subscription, I don’t think any of them didn’t sign up the following month and buy more content from me on OnlyFans as well as buying more underwear and other items
Online videos, pictures and subscriptions are an easy, reusable and very profitable way to sell sex, but trust me, it’s not the only way to do it from your bedroom, and not even the most lucrative. Oh you’d be surprised - and some of you shocked - at what people want to buy from me.
I have basically a list on my profile page on the site I sell underwear from of what you can get from me, although I’m open to any and every request, as long as it’s not going to get me arrested
You’d also be surprised how many people will pay for a phone calling and sexting girlfriend experience for a day/week/month, that’s very expensive but I always seem to have one or two people wanting it every week. And all this isn’t even on my OnlyFans page, it’s all on the site I sell my underwear. I pay a small fee for my profile and thats it, the rest is all mine whatever I sell, no commission, no cuts taken.
OnlyFans isn’t all and everything by any means. If you broaden your marketplace and mindset, the effect of this OnlyFans news can likely be minimal. I know it won’t hurt me too badly at all.
And like the lovely @MissNoir said, if you find it a fun thing to do, keep doing it!
All kinds of people, celebrities, performers, influencers, I subbed to a few celebrities and social media people, and it was a side of them that hasn’t been seen before
Yeah I think that newer article explains it a little better. There’s lots of different information and opinions out there but from what I’ve read, it seems like Only Fans didn’t really do everything they could to adhere with the regulations that would allow them to continue and it was possibly just the ‘out’ they were looking for. I obviously don’t know though I don’t have or use Only Fans, but it’s been really interesting reading the deep dive articles into it all!
But why would they need an out? That’s what confuses me. They’re owned by some reclusive porn mogul, and porn seems to be about 107% of their content, so why purge it if you don’t have to? The cookery stuff does not sound as popular.
“They’ve seen other sites try to make the transition to mainstream content before and they’ve seen how many have stumbled into irrelevance as a result, notably Tumblr, which in 2018 swept out all the porn and went from being the next big thing in social networks to a gif-riddled ghost town.”
@Justthe2ofus2007 think my original attempt at humour has been taken way out of context. I’m not going around stealing material from sites, was simply implying that a lot of WhatsApp group chats, men’s in particular contain “naked chicks” and that only fans seemed to be a major contributor of the material.
On the other hand regarding your points, I fully understand that cam work is a source of income to some, but surely people can’t be that naive to believe that uploading to the internet has no risk of interception from other parties? I mean I can download any photo any Lovehoney forum member had posted freely. I don’t but I could!
I think that if only fans does stop broadcasting that sort of material then another site will come along with the same idea. I mean the amount of people using it can’t see why someone wouldn’t create an Adultfans
@Justthe2ofus2007 I’m not bashing you either, sorry if it seems that way. Fair play for having the confidence to appear in front of cam. Just not something I’m into either watching or doing. Debate and different opinions are healthy! And @Ian_Chimp I agree threads getting a bit off topic.
