Great post and I agree 100%, I love being on the receiving end with anal play, whether it’s a tongue, finger, dildo or strap on I’ve always enjoyed it with past girlfriends. As a heterosexual, I think it’s a taboo topic - one I am still shy about today.
My wife knows I like plugs etc as we use them during sex, but the thought of bringing up pegging terrified me.
We usually buy random boxes for each other for special occasions so when it was my turn to surprise her, I bought a pegging kit (among other things). While away for a romantic night, we open the items of the box together - she then gets this “let’s try everything” mentality - win for me.

Can’t believe I haven’t seen this thread before 
I am a straight male and I love been pegged, my only gripe is that it doesn’t happen that often. In my head I want to be pegged every time we have sex but I know that would take away the specialness of doing it! I love giving her full control and she enjoys having that control. At the same time I would never openly admit to other people that this is something I enjoy due to the social stigma which is obviously totally wrong - luckily me and OH are completely open with each other about what we like and don’t like and that’s all that matters!!
