Always had Samsung android phones except for a Blackberry which I loved for it’s proper keyboard.

I find android phones easy and logical to use and even at my 60+ age i can easily reorganise apps to make the most used one’s easy access etc. I have extra storage via a micro sd card and have virtually all my music stored on it after ripping the cd’s, literally 100’s of albums!

My last phone i had 7 years and only upgraded in August, just transferred all the data over and switched the sd card and I was good to go.

I read of the problems people have when Apple foist updates on them, and how insular they are to the point of having to be legally forced to make their chargers universal.

So I would rather stick with what I know and what i’m happy with.

Apple charges more just for been market leader

I’m definitely an android fan!

I remember mum used to have an iPhone and it always seemed to be confusing to work, plus I don’t get how she managed with the titchy screen.

I like the ease of use of my Samsung, it’s more intuitive and the big screen is an absolute must!

Android and have been for years.

I hate how you have to subscribe to the Apple way of life and do things their way.

Android lets you do things that you want to.

My last three phone have been Samsung, currently an S25 Ultra. I also wear a galaxy watch 6 classic, one of the reasons I’ve stuck with the brand as i don’t like the look of the apple watch, looks like a toy imo.

Had a Samsung for years then in 2023 got an i-phone given it was an i-phone 11 pro max it took forever to get used to it and almost went back to a Samsung.

I eventually got used to it and then got given an I-phone 14 plus. It was a doddle to get used to it has a large screen and was so easy to change everything over.

@CurvyJilly Does that mean you are now hooked on Phones or would you ever go back to a Android?

Yes before smart phones, I was given an i-pod from unclaimed lost property. All I wanted to do was use it to rip my music to and use it as a music player.

First of all before I could use i-tunes to download my ripped music to, they wanted my credit card details even though I had no intention of buying from them. So I went back to my mp3 player that was easy to use, had much bigger storage and didn’t require my life details!

@teacake like yourself I help others who struggle with modern tech. So I swing and embrace all tech and operating systems, and could be described as Bi-phonal . I have used an iPhone since my Nokia 3310 finally gave up the ghost purely so I was more instigated with the family but today was the first time I went to look at a Samsung S25 to buy when the new update comes out. But then the iPhone 16 e also smiled and winked at me.

Good to hear, I do know some people who have both android for fun and iPhone for work for making sure they get emails pushed straight away, as android has a aggressive Doze mode especially on some Samsung phones, I still prefer android as I disable it using ADB command disable deviceidle devicesleep, it doesn’t effect battery drain at all.

I don’t know how you find it but my 5 year old phone has lost about 5% battery each year. Currently sitting at 75%. Longevity is the important factor with me.

As long as you don’t run the battery down or fully charge too often all is good and will last a long time.

Every single Android device I’ve tried quickly became outdated or just plain crapped out on me.

Where something like my original iPhone SE was supported for years, and my iPhone 3GS still runs fine so I stick with Apple.
