Hey everyone,

To keep this space welcoming for all, we want to remind everyone about a few important things.

Our lingerie threads are all about body confidence, self-expression, and showing off beautiful garments. They’re open to everyone, regardless of gender, and we encourage you to share your images (in line with the photo rules) with pride.

However, I think a few reminders are needed:

Be Respectful: Hostility, disrespectful responses, and kink-shaming aren’t welcome here. Everyone deserves to feel safe here. We’re a diverse bunch, and not everyone likes the same thing - and that is a-okay! However, if you see something that isn’t for you, scroll on by.

Support and Expression: These threads are for celebrating body confidence, self-expression and beautiful lingerie, not for personal arousal content. The threads will not be personally tailored to individual tastes. There are plenty of places on the internet for that type of thing, the Lovehoney Forum is not one of them.

Encourage and Include: We celebrate all body types and forms of expression. Your positive comments help make this a great place for everyone.

I know many are already doing exactly this and I’m proud I get to work with you everyday! Thanks for being an awesome community.

Somewhat related - How would everyone feel about introducing a new thread specifically for Lovehoney Lingerie. A place where you can showcase your lovely pieces but also have to link to the garment?

The existing thread can continue as it is. But the new space will be about the clothes, and rather than commenting on the body of the person wearing it, you should comment on the piece?

I always link my Lovehoney lingerie but I think a separate thread solely for this is a great idea!

Yes to the separate Lovehoney lingerie thread with links to the products. That will hopefully show off how the products look on a non-standard model body.

Also just want to applaud the inclusivity of the lingerie thread and Lovehoney in general :clap::clap::clap:

Totally support both parts of this :+1::+1:
It’s really helpful seeing the lingerie pieces I’m interested in buying on different people as well as the Lovehoney models. Big, big thanks to all who already do upload and link the products.

I think a LH lingerie thread is a great idea, I don’t post myself but I’m always interested to see how an item fits on a body.

I also agree that the comments regarding the post should be about the lingerie itself and not the body. Sometimes I find the comments are a bit heebie jeebie giving :face_with_peeking_eye:

Well nice to see this post but I really can’t see it changing a certain members mind and attitude to the male members posting lingerie photos, considering it was only in February that the member was causing problems with his shaming. You would think he has a memory problem.

And yes it would be good to have a LH lingerie thread.

As someone that used to post pictures because I was a 14 but only fit the OSQ line (now I fit both size ranges depending on style and fit), to show how it fit someone between sizes, I really would appreciate the comments being focused on the lingerie.

One of the main reasons I stopped was because the comments I was getting made me uncomfortable, as time went on, the focus of all the comments I received became solely my body, which is not why I was posting.

So long as everyone can be respectful to everyone else and not set off the perv alarm, I think it’ll be great.

(And I might even start posting again, considering I now fit the LH OS 8-16 for bottoms and OSQ 18-22 for tops that actually cover me, I feel showing the difference in the sizing is super important)

Also another little note on rules, please make sure to use the flagging system. I know it is hard when rule breaking content is harmful and hurtful - but please allow us to hand it!

Please use the flag system to report posts which are against the rules. Don’t engage in mob mentality and gang up on a member who has broken the rules – just use the flags and a moderator will take care of the rest.

I think having stricter rules for the comments on the text thread will be needed, and notes on each post to comment on the pieces and not the person.

Perhaps each post should be posted with the following template before approval?

Mod Note: Please only comment on the Lingerie, comments submitted about the model’s body will be removed.

That’d be a great idea!

Having my comments being 90% about the lingerie to 90% about my body was just really off-putting. I don’t want others to have that same experience.

Will the comment/appreciation thread be separate from the current one?

I think it will have to be, it’ll be too challenging to moderate otherwise.

Everyone, I could do with some help clarifying what they class as comments on the body/comments on the garment. I know where I draw the line, but I am just one person! :slight_smile:

I think it’ll be a fine line, but if it’s something along the lines of “that whatever really flatters your shape, or emphasises your curves” etc it should be okay? In my view at least.

My personal take on it would probably be ‘if you have to think twice about whether what you’re writing is appropriate, then don’t write it’. I know different people have different opinions, just my two cents :blush:

@Lovehoney_Brenna I wouldn’t upload my personal measurements for everyone to see, but I would upload my height, general clothes size and the size I purchased.

I agree with @MsSubExperimenter regarding how people write a compliment. Using the whole ‘The piece really suits you and your figure etc’ I think it’s appropriate.

Agreed on the compliments!
I feel it’s when it becomes something like ‘you have a nice tight/shapely body’, like no mention of the lingerie at all (or even a little ‘and the lingerie is good too’ quip at the end) is when it starts to becomes a little more of a body focused comment

@MsSubExperimenter @RacyRosalee totally agree. I think there is going to be a very fine line. I think even the lines of ‘Your boobs/butt look awesome!’ is possibly too far. Don’t single out a body part, I think we should keep it pretty generalised.

I think it’s a great idea as I do struggle sometimes to imagine things on my wife’s body when buying her surprise gifts. Sometimes I need all the help I can get!

On a separate note, I can imagine a number of people twisting their ankles as they run to the ‘appreciation’ thread to check if the comments above relate to them. I stopped tracking that thread a while back as I found some of the comments in bad taste.

Just curious if the links will work backwards? For example, you’re on the LH site, looking at a piece of lingerie, and it has a link for the person’s post on the forum?

No, the photos won’t be present on LH product pages and there won’t be any links back to the forum. The Photos Cateogry will still be locked to account holders only :slight_smile:
