Plus size body stockings: Yay or Nay?

I'm tempted to buy one to surprise hubby, but not sure it'll look flattering or not. Couldn't see many reviews (or I may just have looked in the wrong places) or looking for advice from those who have them!

Personally, being a bigger girl myself, I wouldn't wear one. I don't think I'd feel very sexy in it as it'd cling to the lumps and bumps

I wouldn't worry about lumps and bumps. If my OH was to surprise me with a body stocking I'd just be incredibly turned on with how sexy she looks :)
Your hubby will know and love your lumps and bumps and I'm sure he'd love it too!

i think body stockings can make the wearer feel unflattering my wife certainly felt lile that when she wore one.

But i found her sexy in it .And im sure your hubby would be thrilled by it as its still you inside it :-)

Hi ksw1980

Everyone is different and you will either love it or hate it. Here at Lovehoney with our 365 day return policy - you could buy a couple and return them if you didn't like the way they fit/ or the style.

I'm sure you will like them once you've tried them on, give it a go :)

Many Thanks

I love the look of bodystockings, they are really sexy and enhance your curves, they give you a nice shape

i think being a bigger girl shouldnt put anyone off wearing them,im a bigger girl and i dont wear them after having 5 kids, my figure is not that great to wear one, i feel very body concious my partner did buy me one years ago, but i thought i looked like a rolled piece of meat in the net, although my partner disagrees with this he thought i looked sexy,i wish i could get over my body issues as i would love to wear one for him

I have at least my own share of body issues, and i found that the lacy bosystockings that are patterned help to hide some of the lumps and bumps - maybe try one of those rather than a fishnet type thing.

I put the 2 for £20 bodystockings offer back on this morinng, which might be useful if you want to try two different styles and see what suits you best.

Like Lovehoney-Cazz said, you can return anything for up to a year. :)

The seven til midnight one is the one that i adore.... (also please ignore my terrible spelling in my previous post)

I've been umming and ahhing over http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=24672 for ages but keep putting it off because of body issues. My OH really wants me to get it, he says he knows every lump and bump on my body and loves them so him being able to see it all shouldn't be a put off for me :/ so hard to get over my self conciousness though!

Surely its what you feel comfortable in which out weighs everything?

Your OH will probably rather that also

Hi ksw1980,

I wrote these reviews for body stockings recently and you might find them helpful:

I love these things and I think if you have curves they look amazing. I was really worried about lumps and bumps being obvious but at least in my case the opposite is true. They give an amazing silhouette.

There are two things to consider here, imho: 1) will your OH find it sexy, & 2) will you find it sexy.

Each is just as important as the other. From your OH's perspective I would imagine that they will absolutely love the experience. If this isn't something you usually do then that alone will be a turn on - something new, something risque, something naughty... What's not to like. I see a few people have mentioned that they wouldn't do it as they too are plus size and they feel it would just highlight parts of your body that you're not happy with. This is a different matter and is what you might think but is very, very, very unlikely what your OH will think. They see you naked already - they love and lust after you just the way you are. Sexy lingerie will not change this except to further inhance their desire.

Now thinking about the second consideration and your feelings about wearing it. This you really need to answer yourself, but if you think that wearing one will make you feel sexier then go for it, 100%! I truely believe that the best sex / intimacy comes when two people are completely at ease with themselves and their partner.

Besides, you'll never know unless you try. I've bought many items over the years to give something a go. Somethings are brilliant and become regular additions to are sex life. Somethings weren't for us but we still had fun finding out.

What's the worst that will happen. You'll both have a giggle, take it off and have sex. Sounds like a win-win to me ;)

Hello ksw1980 :)

As someone with squidgey lumps and bumps, I wouldn't wear a fishnet bodystocking, because i can imagine them not covering the ones I want covered at all, but ones like http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=27330 I think would look sexy because the pattern would cover what I want covering, and let me have a little bit of confidence back!

I haven't bought it yet, but it's on my to get list, so I'll let you know when I do if you're still unsure :)

I honestly don't think anyone could look bad in a bodystocking. I didn't have high expectations when I bought mine a few months ago but I was so surprised that they really do look amazing. They stretch a lot so cling to your curves in the most incredible way. I would highly recommend you get a lace one rather than fishnet though, as I find fishnet digs in a little bit more than lace.

How about this one? http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=20473

This one isn't included in the offer but it's similar to the two I have http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=28616

Trust me,your OH loves you and your body, the big turn off is women who are self critical of their bodies,go for it,he`ll love it.

I'm a size 16 and my husband would love me to get a bodystocking but I won't get one as I think they would not flatter me and I'd feel too self concious in it.

I like to wear corsets to give me shape and babydolls to skim over my lumps and bumps but I personally feel that they suit slim people better (but that's only my opinion).

I know what looks good on me and makes me feel good usually before I even try it on so that is why I would swerve the body stocking. But that's not to say it you would feel the same about wearing one.

Have fun trying new things to wear and if you dont like it you can always return it.

We bought the first one you linked for Christmas and it's really well-made, the patterning is fabulous and my OH loves it.

Have a review on it coming soon, would highly highly recommend it (even more so in a 2 for £20 deal).

Don't forget you can always send back if you're not happy for a year!

Definitely think you should buy and try - like Gemma and Cazz say just return them if they aren't what you hoped for. You should try it - you'll never know until you do and you have nothing to lose. New Year is a good as time as any to try something new? Personally think they are great :)

Thanks for all the great advice, it's been a great help.

Going to give these two a go thanks to the offer. (Thank you Lovehoney Gemma!!!!)

Sure hubby will love them, and if I don't, I'll pop them back in the post. :)
