Pubic hair on penis shaft

I feel a bit embarrassed about asking this but have always found the LH forum friendly and supportive so here goes.

For quite a while I fully shaved my pubic hair. More recently I’ve gone for a trimmed approach and often let it grow for 2-3 weeks between trims. I noticed that when I have “natural” pubes I have hair growing at the base of my penis shaft and about 1 inch up the sides of the shaft. For reference my penis is around 4-5 inches when flaccid (around 8.5 erect). So my natural pubic hair goes up about a quarter of my flaccid penis shaft.

I don’t like shaving this (the hair on the actual shaft) because it regrows very quickly so my solution has been to cut wax strips into small rectangles and remove it. I then pluck any strays with tweezers. This takes care of it for at least a couple of weeks.

I googled this and found it’s not medically anything significant and certainly not a sign of anything bad to have some hair on the penis shaft. My question though is, do other people have this? It’s not something I’m comfy asking friends or my partner (about previous male partners). When I look at porn I notice that for most actors with pubic hair it stops very abruptly at the base of the penis and there’s none at all on the shaft. But then, it could be that they shave or wax it. Mine actually has this appearance but only due to the aforementioned waxing.

I couldn’t find a forum thread on this as the closest question was asking about preference on this. To be clear I’m not asking about preference or styling, but more whether this is common?

I shave mine every fortnight. I’m tempted to try hair removal creme , even though it advises against it.

I’ve had hair there for years, doesn’t bother me, or my wife and I’d not worry.

I never shave down there but try to keep trimmed and that’s always happens to me and I’ve assumed it’s totally normal :+1: it’s not a full bushy growth but there are definitely a few strays, nothing to worry about :yum: and never use porn for a point of reference :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I’m the same. I’m sure this is completely normal!

I’m with @Very-Ape on referencing porn.
In this image driven age, it’s understandable that we compare ourselves to the images we see. I like to occasionally remind myself that anyone performing for the camera whether actors, models or ordinary folk taking selfies will make special efforts to wax, pluck, tan, oil or whatever to capture what they want others to see.

More generally, there are cultural norms for all different types of body hair.
If we think of facial hair for a moment, there’s a stark difference between the look of an unshaved face left to grow stubble vs a steamed, trimmed and moisturised stubble after a trip to a Turkish barber.

Whether you follow one trend or another is up to you. If it makes you happy to wax and pluck, then crack on I say! :+1:

Even though an inch sounds like much compared to what I’ve seen on previous partners, this is totally normal. Having hair on the shaft is probably not as uncommon as you think.

Personally I -or rather my vagina- finds it irritating when there’s shaved, trimmed or very short (growing back) hairs there. I think that waxing or laser hair removal is the way to go. Just make sure you take proper care of the area afterwards. :slight_smile:

@Shagger11 Don’t worry lad, your not alone. Think it’s totally natural. Have it myself. Has never bother the OH, but she does have a preference of me being smooth on the underside of my shaft. Started using an intimate hair removal cream this last 2 / 3 years. We both prefer the smooth feeling of shaft and balls.
If you do get a cream, watch the clock. If it says up to 3mins, stick by the instructions. The consequences can be painful, speaking on own experience.

My pubic hair grows there too. I epilate so I treat that area with extreme care.

Hubby has a bit of hair on his shaft, he trims it with the rest of his pubic hair and we are both happy with that.

its normal , I have it there too , my OH loves it being smooth so shave it every couple of weeks , not tried the hair removal creme so cant comment on that

I have never shaved my cock . I use magic shave powder and it removes it a treat . Over the years I have tried plucking it , as long as you have a lot of time it is OK . A smooth cock is a fun cock .

I’m under 30 and have hair on my shaft, so it’s not just an age thing.
