They’ve been going off here since 5 .00 pm . Half the time there’s masses of banging but when you go to the window you can’t see anything!

My kiddo’s special school had fireworks mid-afternoon. Not too loud as that would upset some, but the smells and sounds do help those who are visually impaired to feel part of things.
So, some good things. But loud bangs in local gardens in the evening (ahem) are not so welcome.
My older ones are feeling that, in normal times, they might have gone to a display in a park with their mates. We got a takeaway instead.
I think if I still had little ones I would be tempted - this year - to put on a small display at home. But I would put the emphasis on colour rather than noise. And cut out all the adult shouting.

I find it amazing how some posties deliver other people’s post through our letterbox. We have the first line of our address on a plaque outside to make it easier, too. Luckily, the recipients usually don’t live far so I don’t mind just popping it through their letterbox.

When companies “on hold” music has gaps in it that makes you think an actual person is about to speak but it’s just the change in song or a little message about how my call is important to them
I’ve spent the last 30 minutes being tricked every 3 minutes!

Thank you, that’s very kind of you @Orgasm_Chaser. It’s due to multiple painful issues, but one of the main ones is that my Grandfather died on my 19th birthday from a massive heart attack.

My grandfather died when I was 19 not on my birthday but shortly after.His funeral was probably the worst day of my life even up to now.I can only imagine what a horrid reminder your birthday must be and you have my deepest sympathies.Just remember were all here for you if you need us.

Thanks, very kind @Onlyones, I’m really sorry about your grandfather too.
My grandfather and my uncle were the ones who introduced me to my hobby when I was about 5 so I was extremely close to him and my uncle who died a couple of years ago.In all honesty I was probably closer to my uncle than to my dad as I spent nearly 50 years pursing our hobby together until a little before his death.
That’s really nice you had such a strong bond with them @Onlyones, you built a lot of good memories. I remember my grandfather was always kind and generous to my brother and I, sadly my Father and Grandfather fell out before his death & when I talk to my elderly Father I can tell it hurts him. My Mother died in November shortly after my birthday twelve years ago, that hurt me badly and was the worst day of my life.
