Ranting about the few passive aggressive members who think LH forum is Facebook. I’m not on FB for a reason. I’m not sure why there are people who have to respond to posts in a manner of trying to catch someone in a lie, or contradiction to another post. I have been coming here to the LH forum for almost fours years now because it’s a safe and inviting place, unlike most social media. I’m not going to flag the post and be petty because they are not that egregious but the passive aggressive attitude behind their remarks just pissed me off. As this thread implies, just ranting.

Just watched the Louis Theroux documentary on the “Manosphere”
What a sad bunch of misogynistic man-babies, all surface gloss and no substance.
I had to laugh at ‘HSTikkyTokky’ (that name is a red flag if ever there was one) saying he showed boys how to be real men while wearing a feminine shoulder bag, being too thick to see the irony. He turned out to be a Turkey toothed mummy’s boy.
It struck me that all these influencers who claim to be making lots of money by influencing the gullible are really just part of a huge pyramid scheme.

The creeping, government inspired chastisement of late diagnosed neurodivergents just to avoid responsibility and try to save some cash. B*stards. We’ve spent our lives being bullied and believing we’re broken. Desparately trying to ‘fix’ ourselves to fit in with weird neurotypical behaviour. Making ourselves small, lowering ourselves to your standards while working twice as hard to create the things society relies on. Many of us don’t want anything from you. We’ve lived long enough without your help. We just want acknowledgment, acceptance, respect and a chance to unapologetically be ourselves instead of hiding away to make you f*cking comfortable. Non of that will cost you a penny. And for those of us that do need some help .. you’ve already saved a fortune by ignoring them all this time .. the least you can do is help when you’re finally forced to acknowledge them. F*ckers.

Never needed help until I was made redundant in my 50’s, the help was a pittance and the people at the job centre had the audacity to say to me and my colleagues that they loved people like us cos we actually wanted to work, which made me realise they weren’t their to get the feckless into work.
Governments seem to have bottomless pockets for their own agendas no matter how adversely they affect us, but fail when it comes to things that would actually help us or improve our lives. It’s OUR money they’re spending recklessly.
We’re currently on the brink of an energy crisis due to the war against Iran. But our idiotic government won’t allow oil fields off Scotland to be given the greenlight which would have them supplying oil by September, rather than importing at great cost. Due to their misguided “green” agenda. The war is not exactly saving the planet is it?
Also I saw last week the government bragging about an arc furnace in Wales making steel greener, after they shut down a blast furnace. What they conveniently hide is that an arc furnace can only recycle scrap steel, not make virgin steel which you need a blast furnace for, so we pay through the nose for virgin steel from places like China and India, killing our steel industry, and making us reliant on other countries when we used to be more or less self sufficient in both steel and energy and our industry was the envy of the world.
We need leaders like Churchill to grasp the rose by the thorns and make us non-reliant on other countries in a tumultuous world.

Over here our current leader understands what is actually going on and is trying to un do the damage done by several administrations . However in my state and multiple others the states are fighting tooth and nail , holding on to the scam that is the green deal . We have the highest gas tax in the country . On top of that is a hidden tax for the net zero scam that ads a dollar a gallon . Oh it also jacked up our monthly electric and natural gas bill about $100 . Multiple states are getting exposed for their fraud , I can hardly wait for our state to get investigated . Seriously considering moving to a state not controlled by organized crime .

We’re currently paying the equivalent of $2 a litre, yes that’s a litre not a gallon! If my maths is correct that’s $7.50 a gallon! It’s nearly £2 a litre for diesel. Whenever I have driven in America it’s always amazed me how cheap gas is compared to the U.K.
Mind you, our government does add a hefty chunk to the price in tax, same with alcohol especially spirits.

What frosts my ass is that we get all our fuel from Alaska , processed in our state . However Oregon has zero refineries and a tiny storage . They get fuel through a pipeline from us . Then California imports 85% of their fuel from other countries . They have killed their refineries . So they both get some fuel from here , jacking up our prices . I have to read up , it appears we will be getting E85 , which 80% of cars and trucks will not run on . That fuel has alcohol that is subsidized by the government . So they use our taxes to subsidies , then we pay again at the pump . Today I paid $4.99 a gallon , a lot of places are at $5.89 . Crazy .

As a side note , back in 1972 during gas wars I paid 23 cents per gallon for full service premium .

Changing Internet provider for a much cheaper plan and everything is set in motion. Get a snotty cow on the phone from current provider asking why I hadn’t phoned them to ask for a better deal? I replied why didn’t you offer us a better deal to reward our loyalty instead of upping the price constantly? She kept repeating why didn’t I ring them? Grrrrr!
If I go to Aldi and they’re dearer than Sainsbury’s I don’t ask Aldi if they can do me a better deal, i go to Sainsbury’s!
Surely it’s the company’s responsibility to reward customer loyalty rather than treat us as a cash cow?
Also, it begs the question…if I did ring and they did me a better deal, doesn’t that mean they’re admitting they’ve been ripping me off?

Totally agree!
It is the same with lots of annual renewals. Makes you wonder how many people just accept the price increases rather than challenge them or go elsewhere.

Agree totally. We’ve been with our service provider since around 1999 when the company was known under a different name and for years we got a loyal customer discount. Then they stopped doing that and continued to hoik the price up every single year.
When you speak to them they just offer you a different package (always more expensive) or try to get you to take extra channels as add ons, again more expense.
When my OH asked “Can’t we just have the loyal customer discount back?” it was met with silence followed by “We can offer another package” 
We’re already on the cheapest package they do!

In the area I am at there is one internet provider through underground cabling . They are well aware of that fact and charge accordingly , an arm and leg . Starlink is an option , however equipment costs to start are real high . Then there are 5G providers that are a possibility , though even though our neighbors has them they say it is unavailable at our location . It seems all local government feels like people are endless suppliers of money , no matter how stupid they blow money . Businesses seem to believe the same thing . I really like how they use any excuse to raise their prices . Our state has added and expanded so many taxes in the last year or so that many businesses are leaving the state . You may have heard of some of these tiny businesses . Amazon , Microsoft , Boeing . Along with the business taxes , tens of thousands of high paid employees leave . Funny how their goal of more tax money equals way less taxes collected . So they raise taxes on the remaining people . What I find funny is that the same businesses and many employees got the elected officials in their positions . Being retired and on a fixed income they make life a little more challenging . I could go on for pages about this state’s stupid leaders , but I will spare you details .

Very similar over here, they tax workers and businesses to the hilt to the point that many businesses can’t afford to employ people because of recent National Insurance rises, and it often becomes more lucrative to not work, especially if you’re not a home owner/mortgage payer.
The Internet providers know that we can’t function without it nowadays, so they tend to charge what they like, hence us having to shop around.

Yeah , I did not mention they have crushed many small mom and pop businesses . Our state was on board of defund police . We have the fewest police per population in the entire country . To make it even better to hide illegal immigrants , they rarely arrest them . If they do , they lets them go . When they started no arresting homeless drug addicts for stealing less than $1,000 . Also started supplying needles and " safe " places to do drugs . Really dreaming of moving to more of an American state .

Yeah our police started treating shop theft as a non crime if the value was below £100, so basically it’s carte blanche to steal what you like.
Last year I was standing outside the local post office/store with the dog while my wife posted a parcel, at around 10am. A guy walked out and around me with a huge full shopping bag. Unbeknownst to me he’d just cleared the shelves of chocolate. The staff, a grossly overweight young man and a very old looking lady came out, but neither was in a state to do anything to chase him. They said it was the second theft that day! I said if I hadn’t had the dog with me I would have gone after him, but my wife reminded me that i’m a bloke in my 60’s and what if he had a knife? Which i had to agree with. I also work in retail and shoplifting is rife, cos there are no consequences.
