Rant Thread - Get it all out here

Shop staff are generally told not to stop thieves because of the possibility of having a knife pulled on them. Or if they do pursue and manage to stop the thief then any force they use may be construed as assault and they could find themselves being prosecuted!

There was a case in the news recently about a shop worker who despite being told not to chase and stop shoplifters, did so and the shop sacked him for breaking his contract. He said he was just so sick of seeing it day after day, people just walking out with trolleys full of stuff.

Yes, we have to do online training regarding all that. We are told to report any instances on a special app for whatever good that does. Fortunately i work behind the scenes so don’t really deal with any of that.

The scan and shop thing is another invitation to thieve! Had a regular couple filling a trolley on a weekly basis but only scanning £8 worth of products. When they were confronted, their loyalty card records showed the weekly £8 spend!

Honestly some people just have no qualms about doing that sort of thing while the rest of us continue to pay.

I reckon they should give shop security staff tasers so if a knife is pulled on them they can zapp em. :high_voltage:

I forgot to add, they were driving a brand new Range Rover, not much change from 40 or 50 grand!

They would certainly think twice if they knew they might get zapped.

2 hours on the phone to 111 dental, Just to be told to ring back tomorrow to see if any emergency appointments are available.

Last night I must of weakened my crown, I was getting a bit too bitey on my arm while edging before I went to sleep , in the middle of the night I got up for a pee and my crown fell out, I have no dentist as I’m in a new area and the waiting list is… years.

Teacake when getting excited don’t go biting yourself too hard

Now I look terrible with a gap, not good for my confidence.

Not so much a rant as an irritation…keep seeing on social media adverts or requests for “Lash Tech’s” and “Nail Technician’s” How pretentious!

NO you’re beautician’s or manicurist’s! Just calling yourself a “Technician” so you can charge more!

Technician’s build or repair complicated electronics or engines, I wouldn’t trust Chardonnay from the local “Aesthetician’s” to service my car! :winking_face_with_tongue:

Any luck with getting your crown fixed?

@Wood-Nymph I have just come back from the emergency dental care and was told it doesn’t look like it was a very good job from my previous dentist, now this doesn’t surprise me because he left very mysteriously, he just vanished left patients but not just that the staff had no idea what was going on, he couldn’t be contacted.

The emergency dentist has now referred me to have a private appointment at a hospital, they will discuss what’s best, he said there is a couple of options.

Cost me £600 for a cap just before Christmas. That’s stopped me grinding my teeth when stressed!

I had been looking at prices for private care, but it seems caps around here is a hell of alot way over £600

I have three crowns and each one cost me £1500 each.

I don’t know if this rant qualifies to be in here but I.m just really frustrated having been single all my life having to use prostitutes for pleasure. Some days I accept it is what it is but some days like today I just wish I didn’t have to pay for sex or even simple acts of intimacy. I’ve paid women just to hold hands, for a hug and for a kiss. On some occasions it was just a peck on the lips and not a passionate kiss

Wow! :scream: I thought mine was expensive! I’m private not NHS @Wood-Nymph @teacake

Yes the prices are around here are similar to @Wood-Nymph has said, the dentist around here do do payment plans, but I’m going to have to wait to find out what the hospital suggest as I don’t think it’s a simple thing a local dentist will do.

I’m totally put off with going private @Wood-Nymph @WillC I had one private dentist that seemed great when I first started seeing him, then he seemed to be relaxed slouching in the chair saying things we can wait a bit longer to sort that out, he would not turn up on some days, I would get a phonecall saying he is ill.

Turns out he was a alcoholic and was also being investigated, so what does he do? retires early before anything could be done.

Then my second private dentist said the previous guy had been doing some bad wonky work, he seemed great well again at first he was, then he suddenly went A. W. O. L.
