I've decided I'd like to add an anal toy to my wishlist to save up for, and from past experience I know that I'd like it to be one that has several ridges or bulbous sections, not just a straight-up-and-down one, as I think it'll maximise the fun. So you might think that something like '3 bangs for you butt' would be ideal from that point of view I guess. However, I like to select toys that are a bit more discrete and stand a chance of being overlooked if left lying around when someone calls round. For instance my new favourite dildo is the Lovemoiselle Elodie Ceramic one (http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=15149), because it looks decorative and might not necessarily scream 'DILDO!!' if spotted in a drawer by, say, my mum (also it's just great fun, but more about that in a seperate post).
I did think about this because it looks really pretty (my favourite colour too): Glassvibrations Twisted http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=21352 - but it just doesn't look as though it'd be comfortable to use, think I'd prefer something in a softer, flexible material.

yeah, the yellow looks more subtle and a little more male orientated. Some of the LH glass probes/dildos on here are clear... so chucked in a draw etc... don't look obvious.

I have the (sadly discontinued) Alumina Motion, which is the same basic idea as the Metal Worx one, and I adore the everliving fuck out of it. Plus, they are just random lumpy sticks of shiny, so could be subtle as long as anyone's not having a poke at it.
None are blue, sadly, apart from the Twist which you've already found. Personally, I'd say if you're going for a hiding in plain sight thing, the two Icicles ones are about as perfect as you'd get. But it also comes down to exactly how big (and how textured!) you want, as all that glass and metal might be too much unyeilding-ness. For what it's worth, I've seen reviews of something similar to the Twist, and apparently it is quite comfrotable, you just need to screw it in and out instead of shoving straight, and if you're "thrusting", then just tug on it gently and relax instead of being rough: the twistiness of it makes much more out of small, gentle movements, so you should get as much out of it by taking it softly as you would vigorously thrusting a less threaded didlo.
Do lube up like mad and don't push it too far to fast. relax and take it easy. it was easier and more more fun than i ever realised befor. Now it's almost a must hehe.
Doc Johnson have a beaded black anal vibe on here which is good as it's slim tipped and works upto the bigger 'beaded' end at the base.
You could use some of the smaller jelly anal 'probes' first if you wanted to work small and soft. Also a small butt plug is useful to walk around and wear.... then when you come to use a toy... your butt is already a little stretched.
So many hard glass toys being recommended, personally I'm not a fan of ridgid toys for anal. I've found you some softer silicone items to look at. How discreet they are is a matter of your own opinion.

I'm not sure is the No.24 would work well for anal, when tried I found it rather uncomfortable. If you are after glass I would recommend going for one that has a slightly curved shaft, such as these:
Is any of them particuarly easy to take.....as I said never tried anal....not quite sure if it would turn me on.
But I suppose I should at least try.....any particular dos and donts?
Tried it a few years ago with my wife and have never looked back. Main thing to remember, You can never have too much lube! I prefer a silicone lube as it does seem to last a long time.
If your just starting out try lying on your side with your legs tucked up in front of you as it makes it much easier to get the toy up there, other than that just relax and enjoy it :)
Thanks for all the suggestions - I have looked at some of these already, especially the Icicles no. 12 one http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=20055 which I think is pretty and great fun. But I'm still not sure I'd want a glass one for this purpose. I did get tempted to try the Elodie, and that's what made me decide it would be more fun if the shaft was variable girths up and down - I think that's the most fun part. Also I just think I could relax more and have more fun with a non-glass one. Having said that I am thinking about the Doc Johnson Glass Dreams Smooth Waves http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=22600 now, and still thinking about the Glassvibrations Twisted http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=21352 too in view of BashfulBabe's comments (specially as that shade of blue is my favourite colour). I'm not in a great hurry so will keep looking for a while - does anyone else have any more suggestions?
