Returns---what happens to them?

Sorry in advance if its been asked before but, does anybody know what happens to them? In particular toys and things? I've got a couple of items that probably are not going to get used anytime soon due the the Mrs not liking them, and I have thought about returning them.

But then I think to myself I'll not bother because it's not fair that I get a refund and LH has a returned toy that has no use to them, id feel asif I'm scamming them lol.

Again sorry if its been asked, I'm new to the forum :-)

You're always welcome to return products to us so please don't feel uncomfortable. The reason we have the returns policy is because everyone likes different things and we want you to be comfortable and confident in what you purchase!

Returns that have electrical components go to a specialised recycling centre so they can be made into something new and cool. Everything else (unfortunately) goes into the bin or we will try to recycle it if its possible.

We also recycle packaging that comes back to us too so things like cardboard, soft plastics etc. I guess it also may be handy to know that any customer details sent back to us are shredded too.

Thanks for the reply. That's crazy, I hope you guys don't get to many returns based on customers "not liking" the product. I'll hold on to ours for now, maybe in time my lady will start to enjoy them more. Seems a shame to return something for just not liking it, although it's a great policy to have in place. Maybe I would if it was a super expensive item, but for the sake of a few quid it's not worth it in my eyes. :-)

If you can be assured that it hasn't been used/opened/worn Paige could the item be resold? I ask as I have a few repeat pieces of lingerie that came free with orders and I haven't opened them, but unsure whether returning would just get them put in the bin or whether they could be put back on the shelves?

Philntez - That is really lovely of you to say and thank you but yes please don't ever hesitate. Our customer service team are always welcome to help you as I hope you know!

NatandTom - If we are confident it is 100% brand new than we will restock it. If there is even a tiny bit of doubt we will dispose of it (the exception being non-intimate clothing apparel- such as dresses). Most items that come back to us that are restocked are parcels which have been returned to sender (incorrect address, refused parcels) and even then some get damaged in transit and we don't bother. I recently spent a bit of time in our returns department doing some myself and even if it was opened we just throw it out so it's really hard to say unfortunately. Price doesn't come into factor either at all I should add too! Maybe give them to a friend or a giveaway? :)

Sexpest0206 - If we find a customer is taking advantage of the returns policy to an unacceptable extent they will be contacted and there is a process we go through from there. I must emphasize though that this does not happen very often and it is heavily looked into and reviewed by customer care managers as well.

This reminds me of the lelo Ella dildo that i got back in 2011, never used because it was to hep getting my OH to squirt, but never needed it as it just happened before the dildo came, never even tested it. still in its box.

I recently had to return a stroker (split after 3 uses) - fair play to the team in the returns department, I guess they use gloves!!!

I'm sending back a few items of lingerie and I feel guilty that they will be just thrown away :( But they just don't fit properly. However, in my defence, I now have a better idea of how LH sizings work for me, so hopefully should be able to avoid buying things that don't fit in future. It's such a shame, though, as I've literally only tried the items on over my normal underwear. Couldn't lingerie which looks unused (eg still has tags on, like the chemise I'm sending back) be given to a charity shop? Or could things be sent to a textiles recycling facility instead of just being thrown away? Could LH have a fundraising arm where volunteers could wash returned items and give them to charity? Or sell bundles of returned lingerie 'sight unseen, no returns' for a knock-down price as long as buyers know there's no come-back on LH?

Just some ideas. Seems a shame to waste all those lovely items of lingerie if they could somehow be used to raise money or be recycled.

Some good ideas squishlet.

I was curious about lingerie items that have been discontinued, if not even opened do they get thrown away too? I have some lingerie that I will never wear (some not used or opened as I have purchased more than one) but I don't like the idea (while understanding the reason) that they just get thrown out so I have kept them but it all adds up. I generally ask a friend if she is interested in anything but what do I do with the rest? I feel bad about returning things and have never returned anything but not because I get a perfect fit every time.

I've returned the odd thing or two. Thank god for LH's return policy because no-strings-attached returns is part of the reason I take a risk on so many toys.

Have the Lovehoney team ever considered (or maybe they do already) keeping certain items for a Lovehoney Museum in the future? That would be awesome.

LH, what do you consider "intimate clothing apparel"? I was always thinking that only knickers fell into that category. After all, everything else I try on in shops - and put back on the rack if it doesn't fit. Please, don't tell me that all the badly fitting bras, bustiers and corsets I returned went into the bin!

I don't know for sure (and hopefully LH will be able to clarify), this is just my thought. Possibly tights and things such as body stockings and bodies.

I recently watched the LoveHoney TV documentary/series and it was great for giving us as customers an insight into how the company runs and they even show the great ladies and gents in the returns department. Trust me some items need to be thrown away yuck! Also they seem to use a few of the dildos etc as paperweights and stationary holders such as rubber bands lol. If I recall it was called The Joy's of Sex Toys or something like that. Great company and very open / honest. I have nothing but praise for them all.

Hello!

Everyone I really can't emphaize enough to NOT FEEL BAD! It is completely fine and it's the exact reason why we have the returns policy. Our products are such a personal choice and we don't want you to be out of pocket!

Things that can't be recycled but are still in a new condition will likely be added to our staff box. Basically one a month all staff at Lovehoney have a rummage and will take home items they would like! It has been on one of our TV series before.. I think the first Frisky Business. Damaged stock, discontinued returns etc will be added in there too. I promise that we try to recycle everything we possibly can. KinkyMinxMoo - this should answer your question too!

Huhanin - This would be pretty cool haha but I don't think we have the time or dedication for a Museum unfortunately, thanks for the suggestion though! We're busy taking over the world :P

Talia - Anything that has been tried on and we find that is in *new* and *perfect* condition we will restock. The tough thing with lingerie is the packaging. A lot of it the brands have their own specialized packaging which is easily rippable etc. Again, we try and restock everything we can, but sometimes it's just not possible. Kinkyminxmoo is also correct with what she said in regards to bodystockings, hold ups etc.

TJUnknown - Thank you for your kind words :D There is still plenty of dildos and sex toys on desks don't you worry haha. Sometimes someone will give me the odd dildo and I will cut inside to see what is in there! :P

Ha ha Paige - I have ruined more than one sex toy by taking it apart to see what's inside. I once had to spend an hour collecting little balls from one of those rotating bead-filled dildo/vibrator toys when they scattered all over the floor. It had broken (not a LH one so was destined for the bin, not returns) so I cut it open. Never again! Those beads are like Christmas tree needles, you're still finding them months afterwards!

It does answer, thank you. I had hoped that there would be a staff box or something similar so that is great to know :) Hmm I must have missed that one although I have watched a lot of similar things that I am unsure of what I have and haven't watched. I do feel better about returns now and I like the company even more for their efforts to prevent waste :) Keep it up Lovehoney!
