In new research commissioned by Spotify, over 40% of people say that listening to music is more arousing than touch during sex, and one in three people could actually name a song they thought was better than sex! The number one song that's better than getting busy? "Bohemian Rhapsody"! The Wayne's World guys were on to something.

The survey asked 2,000 men and women in the UK to reveal their music choices in order to study the relationship between music, romance and seduction. Some classic standbys were favorites--unsurprisingly, Marvin Gaye took the top two spots for tracks to get in the mood, and the Dirty Dancing soundtrack was the number one music choice to play during sex, but some surprises made the list too. For instance, would you choose ABBA's "Dancing Queen" as the best for flirting on the dance floor? I don't know about that one, but it was the top choice.

Here are three of the playlists compiled from the study, with the top 20 choices for each category:

Not to sound pompous…I tend to prefer classical/opera or flamenco for this purpose; other than my OH, I don't know anybody else who does.

I'd agree with you. Much more romantic and beautiful than cheesy pop songs.

Saying what you like isn't pompous. Personally I don't get most opera find it somewhat irritating. I find classical good for relaxation. Spanish guitar music is good for romance but never listened to flamenco. I think for a lot of people music for these purposes is about the beat.

I have never listened to any of these tracks during sex. Something hot, fast and with a kick ass electric guitar solo is sexy.....

It may sound a bit cheesy but sometimes I like Sade on in the background, nice and mellow. Or something like Moby. Just chilled out songs for me.

I like to have a bit of Elvis , frank Sinatra, Norah jones or El divo or opera to get the romance going for me! I have a very eclectic taste in music lol

But don't really listen to much music during sex any more. Prob did more when I was younger but that was more to hide the fact I was having sex in people's homes when family or roommates where about and may have heard us

We always play music, but my OH is into dubstep, very loud music -_- so it can become a pain, most of the time it's just to drown out us making noise, so noone else can here haha

SophieM I love a bit of me buble too. But one of his songs is me and my exs song.... So I can't play his music if I'm about to have naughty time because it makes me think about the ex.... Kinda inappropriate lol
