As I’m sure you are all aware by now, our Womanizer Premium 2 was featured in Katy Perry’s new music video. This is very exciting for all of us here at Lovehoney Group. However, we want to hear from you too.
How did seeing sex toys, particularly the Womanizer, highlighted in a major mainstream music video make you feel?
We’re still feeling pretty giddy, so we’ve got another Womanizer Premium 2 available to give away. The winner of the prize will be selected randomly from those that respond with feedback.
Thank you!
EDIT: Winner has been selected! But, feel free to still add feedback if you want to
Actually really like her video in general! Love seeing items we’ve used or own in videos…… not sure why but seeing a famous with something like the womaniser adds a little something something!
Womaniser is a pretty epic product to be fair and can’t blame her for using it either
Excellent to see awareness being generated by popular mainstream artists. I think it’s very empowering and also promotes discussion on ‘normalising’ areas around self-pleasure. Can’t wait to watch the video!
Great to see more mainstream recognition of the sex toy industry as a positive thing rather than a seedy, hidden, slightly deviant area as is so often the case.
I think its amazing. I have conversations with friends, male and female about sex toys and still get surprised about a) the stigma they still have and b) how many people wouldnt dream of buying one. My argument is why wouldnt you if it improves your sex life and wellness. The fact that such a mainstream celebrity is openly showing sex toys in her videos can only be a positive thing.
I thought it was awesome to see it in such a public format. Keeping toys taboo keeps a negative view on them. So seeing them especially by someone so popular, it was nice to see a more mainstream acceptance to toys.
Being 50+ and being brought up with sex is dirty blah blah blah it really is nice to see how perception has changed. Sex toys are an integral part of our love life and should be respected as such. It is also so nice to see how pleasuring a woman has also become more mainstream and indeed a focus. Keep up the great work Lovehoney and keep the toys cuming and buzzing and pulsing!
Its great to see a sex toy getting some positive publicity! It might just make some women think differently about toys and encourage them to try them out. If Katy Perry can use one, everyone can. Onwards
It’s great!
In fact, it was Lily Allen that really made me notice the Womanizer in the first place, and really start our journey with sex toys, sex positivity and the like.
Lovehoney was not the first online website that we used for buying lingerie and toys, but we found it quickly and it’s been the sole source for toys and probably 80% of lingerie since.
The approach from LH, the tone and the community have made it our favourite website.
I hope - and imagine - that Katy Perry waving a LH Womanizer around will open the eyes of a wider audience!
For us, toys are a fantastic part of our loving and committed relationship - I feel like Katy will bring that into more peoples lives.
That can only be a good thing!!!
I think it’s a good thing! Sex toys are very taboo all over the world and many men don’t even know what a clitoris is. Society has needed this for a long time.
Obviously she’s super-gorgeous, but also there’s something so genuine and brilliantly likeable about Katy Perry. Always has been.
I remember when ‘I Kissed A Girl ‘ came out. Such a great first big track, but it also opened some great conversations about sexual preferences. She faced questions, and answered them with humour and grace.
My wife & love her as a judge on American Idol. My favourite track is probably ‘The One That Got Away’, cos I’m a soppy romantic. If any celebrity was the perfect fit for the Lovehoney brand it’s got to be Katy, right?
For some reason I really want to write something cheesy, with purring in it … cos Katy, and cats, and they toy making you purr etc
I just read what I wrote to my wife.
She groaned.
Legitimate response
Honestly? I found the entire video really cringe. The whole ‘empowering women being being overtly sexual’ trope is unhelpful. Everything seemed to be made for the male gaze and there’s only one body type represented. I realise she’s now trying to say it’s ‘satire’ (in which case the use of sex toys is, what, meant to be ironic?) but I think it missed the mark. I don’t think it’s particularly ground-breaking to have a sex toy in a video and the rest of the imagery is naff and tired. A swing and a miss from my perspective I’m afraid. It came across as entirely desperate. She’s getting horrendously dragged on social media and the younger audience just isn’t falling for it.
We loved to see it.
Not just is it a great toy making company, it’s made our sex life go to the next level.
So well done Katy Perry on taking away the taboo, and help everyone have better sex.
