@user763 and thank you as well!!! we’re definitely nude in our pool a lot and every once in awhile we will have some pool sex fun…

Sat outside ont swingseat with a coffee and noticed a lot of bee activity around the wisteria over our decking, then it dawned on me that it’s flowering again!!!
Its been a few years since it’s happened and nice to see,BUT it means another load of wisteria flower to clear up:confounded_face::confounded_face::confounded_face:

I installed a trail cam at my pond . The ( I think ) raccoons are knocking big rocks down from side into the bottom , I think they are looking for crayfish . So far I only have a cat , a squirrel and crow . Hey @pootle , the only issue I have had other than showing too much is if photo too large . My rule of thumb is just under a meg . Also our butterfly bush has been in full bloom for several weeks and up until two days ago I had only seen one hummingbird . They are back finally . I can watch them feeding , especially when breezy . Amazing watching their aerial acrobatics .

Lovely hummingbirds @Oldman  You’re so fortunate to have them in your garden. Are they fairly common where you are or are you very lucky to spot them?

There are a lot of them around this area . We bought several feeders , but after talking to my friend’s Mom I decided not to start . She started with one and multiple birds were fighting all the time , so she added a second and then a third until she had seven . Weekly cleaning and making the brew she made they were going through 6 - 7 gallons a week ! My buddy took a photo with his super nice camera and lens . The most we could count in one photo was 89 birds . Evidently if you start , you need to keep it up year around or the birds that would normally go south will hang around and starve to death if you quit . So I have never started .

BTW , @WillC , your place looks impeccable ! I used to be able to keep our place almost as good , but all my other duties leaves little time to do so . I am almost finished power washing our roof , overdue . I wonder how many younger people even think about their roofs . Many of them do not even get their oil changed in their cars . Many other little items that a little maintenance pays big dividends over the long haul . Cleaning the drier exhaust , two minutes and your house might not burn down . Pulling your refrigerator out once a year and cleaning underneath and along the back with the heat sink . Gutter cleaning . The list goes on and on . Any way , Will , your place is quite impressive , nice work .

Thanks! I am not a natural gardener, but i like things to look nice. I try and do all my chores in bite sized pieces. I work part time, unsociable hours so have plenty of daylight to get things done. One of my objectives when i bought this house was a small, manageable garden, which i have tried to make as low maintenance as possible. I actually jet washed my guttering and fascia’s back in March and was absolutely frozen doing it!
Like you my wife has disabilities so i do a lot around the house to make life easier for her. Plus i do a lot for my frail elderly mum who lives a couple of streets away.
I do similar little maintenance jobs like checking and cleaning smoke detectors etc.

Over the last few years i have tried to declutter the house and re-decorate so that as i age it’s easier to keep clean and bright and redecorating needs no more than a lick of paint.
I read a lot about all the things you do too, and i applaud you for that :clap::clap:
Your garden looks great! We ain’t doing too bad for gentlemen in our 60’s! :slightly_smiling_face:

The purple flowers in the photo of the hummingbird are on a large butterfly bush we planted a number of years ago . occasional butterfly shows up , but daily bumble bees , honey bees and of course hummingbirds . It is about 12’ high now and has many flowers on it . I have no idea of the scientific name of the plant . When taking a break on the patio , I watch all the pollinators enjoy the nectar .

Buddleia! Had a few in my garden but they spread like wildfire! The tiny seeds get everywhere! :slightly_smiling_face:

Have had it for years , zero spreading . Interesting .

Your neighbours might not agree! The seeds are tiny and fly for miles on the wind.

Created a rose garden for my wife t’other day on a patch of lawn that isn’t the best,11 holes later and 11 roses were transplanted from various pots and from around the garden and my work was done…
I would post pics but I’m still having issues uploading:confused::confused::confused:

@WillC , after what you said I did a little search and found the plant has been banned here since 2006 ! But as I read further , the reason we have no issues is the ones we have have been engineered to not produce seeds . This regulation came about in 2006 when butterfly bush was added to the Washington State Noxious Weed list. However, it’s important to note that only the species Buddleja davidii itself is under this restriction, not specially bred sterile cultivars . Sterile cultivars are defined as those that produce less than 2% viable seed and are allowed for sale and planting.
Sure , you forced me to learn something , thanks .

Yeah if i have the bathroom window open even on the ventilation catch which is about 2cm open, i can often spot the tiny seeds in the sink or bath if it’s been breezy. I have seen them growing in the gaps in mortar on chimney’s and in guttering on roof’s. Any wasteland they take over! Glad you learned something, as did i learning they’re banned in your state! Another one which is actually banned over here is Himalayan Balsam. I remember my mum getting a free pack of the seeds with a magazine in the 70’s. We loved touching the seed heads as they literally exploded sending seeds everywhere. But i recently learned they were banned because they’re so invasive!

@Oldman appears the trail camera is working just fine. :joy::smiling_face_with_sunglasses::+1:t2: I have 5 different trail cameras I juggle on our hunting land, it’s almost a full time job. Three of the cameras I run have cell service which has been a game changer. I get all the pictures directly to my phone now.
