No you are not, it is just like learning another language which is what you are doing, in essence it means a pop up window so you can move it around and use it to help compare @Belle_djour .

Now I’m hoping I remember my computer heavy work years completely @I_ll_try_anything will tell me if it’s moved on since then.

Modal means it locks you out of the page underneath while its open. So you can’t pan, scroll or otherwise interact with the screen at the back. In some circumstances that’s important. Other times its just frustrating. Non-modal allows interaction.

It could well be due to the needs of the mobile version of the website.

I write my reviews in “notes” so I can edit and amend over a week or so, then copy and paste my review once I’m happy. I don’t tend to look at other reviews before writing mine, but the product description, I do.

Yeah I’ll often do that when I’m writing my own. But when I’m writing on behalf of my OH from her notes, I prefer to write directly to the page. No particular reason why I couldn’t do that in notes too but that I feel I have to is a result of poor usability. Seems like its design needs to be addressed.

Just a suggestion @Lovehoney_Brenna which might be helpful moving forward - can a dedicated chit-chat be created for My Reviews?

Members often have questions or want to reply and I feel them being moved to the lounge everytime takes away from the talking point

I was thinking along similar lines, but was considering whether a dedicated Review category could be a nice expansion from the single topic. Having a topic per review would then allow people to ask questions/have conversations about each one without snarling up the existing flow or splintering it across parallel topics (and I think it feels more intuitive this way too).

With over 700 reviews in there currently, and over 73k topic views, it certainly feels like it’s established its popularity and would fill out a new category nicely.

Splitting out the existing posts into individual topics would be a reasonably tedious job, but I have a healthy amount of experience doing that on other sites and can volunteer my time.

As much as I love the idea of a dedicated category, I fear it might create some confusion for newbies about where they should submit their reviews to be considered for testers Perhaps a banner directing to the site could help though.

I appreciate this @Lovehoney_Brenna Another helpful point might be to include the chit-chat in the description of the my reviews thread. Like the photo categories do.

I can also add something under each review which might help direct members further!
