I been VIP ed, but to be honest, I’m nervous about the news that Hermes is replacing Royal Mail. I’m away for a week so who knows what might happen to my parcel if I ordered. I’m holding off until I know I’ll be in then at least I might have a chance of spotting where the delivery driver flings it
Okay, I am one of the lucky 
people that is testing the new scheme. Maybe I haven’t read it all completely correctly but generally it seems nowhere near as good as the unlimited was before.
If I make purchases I want to be able to have the discount on those purchases not a voucher for future ones that I have to use within 3 months. Yes, I could not include the full spend at first and include other items as a 2nd order straight after with the possibly smaller discount but that seems stupid semantics and an unnecessary 2 packages instead if one, the 2nd one of which I’d probably have to pay postage for on top. Generally I only put in 2 or 3 large orders a year plus occasional DOTD or sale orders so a 3 month window on vouchers and no free postage on smaller DOTD or sale items means I’ll be buying a lot less stuff and ending up not using the vouchers but waiting for Birthday and Anniversary discounts (…if they continue, which I doubt they will, at the current very, very generous 40% unlimited discount 
)
In addition, there is indeed some great stuff in the Black Friday sale, excellent deals on Mantric and beaded glass (which if I didn’t already own, I would definitely snap up!) and some other bits and bobs but then an awful lot of things that are only 10% or 20% off which means paying more than I would have been buying them full price with the unlimited 25% discount. Yes, I’ll get a voucher on top to use but within 3 months??? I might go for it on a DOTD but then have to pay postage on top, rather reducing the value.
Hohum, maybe I’m just being a grumpy old fart, but overall I’d much rather stick with the unlimited please though I guess that was too generous to last

I have to agree with you. For me, over a certain value 25% off is always going to trump £10 voucher.(especially as you can only use one voucher per order).
Would result in me only buying things when they have coded discount offers on or bday codes.
3 months for the voucher is also incredibly short for me too. chances are it would time out before i end up spending it.

I think from what I understand of the program You are correct it’s not that great and I see less people buying things. Also with possibly being delivered in U.K. by Hermes makes even less likely to order large orders as too risky. So hope LH are taking note.

I’m of a similar mind @Peitho. I tend to buy little and more often so the discount thing is okay, but am hoping free postage stays for unlimited/VIP because adding £4 a time to an impulse buy makes it a lot less likely that I’ll cave in and buy.
I’d probably end up buying something relatively cheap that I don’t really want just to use the voucher…
It also appears that I can’t use my carer discount with the preview - hopefully it’s only while it’s a preview and when it goes live

Live chat trying to only give me 20% for my anniversary, even though I already get that with my student discount 
@rosiedosie - I didn’t even get any alerts or anything for mine back in July now that I come to think of it. 20% is barely worth it. 
I know, and she said the 40% off was supposed to only be for unlimited birthdays, not anniversaries 
And seeing how that they’re transitioning to VIP instead of Unlimited I don’t know how much longer Unlimited will be allowed (VIP trial ends in Feb so I’d assume around then)
That’s disappointing @rosiedosie i would be tempted to use the chat again to speak to someone else and see if you can get a higher discount.
I contacted them recently as my anniversary was September and never received anything by email. They gave me a code for 40%. However this code didn’t actually work and I ended up having to contact them again and get the discount manually applied as a second code also didn’t work 
Not heard of the VIP scheme coming but hopefully will bring some consistency x
My birthday is in Feb so I hope the new VIP thing doesn’t mess with the 40% discount or I’ll be Very Insanely Pissed

Every time I contact them they only want to give 20%, for birthday and now anniversary, even though I state that I already get that with my student discount 
Might contact again tomorrow as I can get 20% off any day of the week so doesn’t feel like a special birthday/anniversary discount

I have a 20% code just for signing up for text messages (which incidentally I don’t seem to have had any of yet , although the code keeps giving) - even using a promo link from the Fab sites gives 16%

Their special offer strategy has got a little muddled. I don’t think the ‘once-a-year’ ones are going to be that effective if they’re the same level as a random Thursday email offer. They’d have to be at least 30% off to make them special (and 40% if you wanted to make people feel special).
