Not at all, as it’s written it can be interpreted different ways! Flagging things if you’re concerned is important, and much better to say than not - thank you for being protective of people ![]()
I have a technical emoji question for @Ian_Chimp and/or anyone else that cares to comment…
This emoji, the puzzle piece(s)
, in my list and preview it comes out as a single orange piece but when I post is two blue/green pieces. Really not a big deal and a lot of emojis post slightly differently to how they preview, but I noticed in the quiz topic that when @Ian_Chimp posted presumably the same emoji that it appeared as a orange solo piece and I wondered how/why?
Does it depend on device? Apple, Android Laptop etc?
Maybe? I’m afraid I have no idea. I only use my Android phone though but I just assumed it was something to do with the forum background coding that dictated which form the emojis appear in and then when this one showed differently depending on who posted it confused me ![]()
I’m on android too (Android 9). Those puzzle pieces are 2 blue and green ones on my phone. Sometimes I pick an emoji and a slightly different version appears after I post. Same for WhatsApp too. ![]()
I know they often change but then in this post… how did you create the original orange piece???
Is it because it’s fancy header formatting? As I say, really not a big deal, I just wondered why?
It is not orange or singular on my screen. ![]()

Does the engorji go orange? Or the one wrapped in big?
Yes, in my link to your post blue/green pieces again but in your original orange singular piece. As I say, not exactly important but my brain wants to know why!

ETA All in your post above blue/green maybe it’s something to do with your wrapping formatting for hidden text?

Orange in the header - how weird!![]()
Blue/green below the line break.
ETA I like your examples, header emoji definitely different. Are you using the hashes or something different for them?
The flowers change in my WhatsApp, so I thought I’d take a punt on maybe them changing for you too? ![]()

Yep, flowers different in header and below line break. Do they all look the same for you but just larger in the header?
They all look the same to me, just bigger. ![]()

How about without the Linebreak?
How very weird, I’ve taken a screen shot and will pop a picture in the picture discussion thread - I promise I’m not making it up! ![]()
In the coding they look the same, when format displayed on forum different ![]()
Same, different in header to below
So it seems to be the <details><summary>
How about:

Okay, yes, something in the Summary formatting, different again above.
Have popped the pics in for approval but seem to have got to the bottom of what causes it, if not the why. Thanks ![]()
Still odd that for both of us on Android phones it appears differently!
Mrs Chimp has a few different emojis, and we have exactly the same phone. I’ve still not figured that one out either. ![]()

They actually look slightly different to me in summary versus details.
@PleasureDrone I’ve replied here. ![]()
It was introduced late 2018 if memory serves? You do need to spend £50 a year to keep it ticking over, otherwise you’ll revert to a regular account again. If you think there’s been an error you can contact Customer Care and they might be able to clean it up?
Ahhh - £50 a year. That explains it - thanks, Ian. I haven’t bought anything since Nov 2019.
