Is it any different?
Iāll be honest I canāt compare it to this other app people speak of as I have never tried that, but I find it exactly the same as when using the forum through my mobile browser. I noticed I can see previews of 7 notifications all at once rather than only 5 on the browser but other than that no other differences.
Itās been brilliant for receiving notifications for me and it means my browser is never used for the forum now.
Also Iām sure if people wanted a discreet looking app on their phone that wasnāt named Lovehoney then DiscourseHub sounds quite inconspicuous
Not that that is something that bothers me, discretion has never been one of my priorities in anything ![]()
Maybe try downloading it @Ian_Chimp, you be able to analyse and compare it so much better than I can
Just donate all credit and royalties to me if itās a winner though ![]()
Thanks for the volunteer
Though I think I may lay off the āknow-it-allā Chimp stuff as itās getting on peopleās tits. ![]()
Brilliant!
Luckily thereās a back to undo the delete - phew! ![]()
Youāre now in the After-Forum. Welcome to the Good Place. ![]()

Now Iām in the sandbox. What sorcery is this ![]()
Just testing some stuffā¦
Big red button linkā¦
One day
Nope, didnāt work, link but no big red button.
Letās see if normal highlighting does?
Again nope.
Okay, stealing @Ian_Chimp 's button linkā¦
One day
Phew, at least one works - Thanks Mr Chimp
Does this do anything?
Interesting, that does essentially highlight leaving normal text. Guess it depends on browser though, might underline instead of highlight on some and I canāt dictate the highlight colour as the style options are disabled⦠shows green on my phone though.
Does this essentially produce a highlight in a different colour?
Yes, but again colour choice not up to me and not exactly a major highlight!
Checking to see if I can type code without it implementing it or needing a specific code boxā¦

Yes! ![]()
Okay, two new tricks that will be utilised when I get around to setting the next Rebus Quiz ![]()
Came here with me bucket and spade hoping to build some castles. Now it appears a āsandboxā is not what I imagined.

Itās not so bad. At least this oneās not full of cat shit. ![]()
Should I flag this reply for inappropriate language?
An emoji or two would have done the trick ![]()

Youāll get a Flag badge. ![]()

I thought the words were funnier. Youāve got to land a joke on a spondee whenever you can. ![]()
But just in case youāre serious, swearing in moderation is permitted. ![]()

Iām very rarely serious about anything. ![]()
@Ian_Chimp Many thanks for your prompt responses during this exchange.
I think you spoke too soon. Weāre in a sandbox, its unavoidable Iām afraid ![]()
Look harder, leave no stone unturned!

I have a question @Ian_Chimp , is there a clever way to get YouTube videos to show and play on the forum when theyāre contained within either hidden text or blurred? I couldnāt work it out last night and in the end gave up! I know you have found a special way to get some formatting stuff to work within a hidden section but Iām afraid I couldnāt find where youād written this last night ![]()
My initial thought is that the YouTube clip wonāt auto-play within the formatting because the auto-play is a style of oneboxing? (that is, the forum does a bit of background magic, but wonāt be able to if the linkās not on a line all by itself/not enclosed in other formatting)
I remember Brenna asking if tables would work in Hide Details, and that does.
But I think thatās regular formatting within formatting, so as long as you donāt mix markdown and html too much it can handle it. Edit: I remember now.
It was the answers to the Poetry Round in the Pub Quiz.
Iāll have a little play. ![]()
