Many people have been wondering how to get their Certified and Licensed Badges, and it turns out we should all have had a personal message from Discobot when we signed up (I did not get one. I’m trying not taking it personally, but it’s tough).

If he doesn’t PM you you can request either Tutorial by writing:

in a message below. Let us know how you get on.

Hiya, where do PMs pop up?

A red notification circle in your top right avatar picture (basically the same as a blue notification ping, but red). You should be able to pick it out from the list when you open it up.

Edited to add: I think my first ‘Discobot Greetings!’ was a red notification, but I didn’t keep track of the rest (including the Advanced set), so they might just be blue. Either way, they turn up in your Notification list.

You can go to Username → Activity → Notifications for the full list.

I know what you mean @Alicia4Ever! I just want to get to the good stuff, not do tutorial stuff, i was getting very frustrated on Tuesday, but think i know the basics now, i think i will just pick extra stuff up by repetition and regular use!

I think the only limit you may hit is if you post three replies in a row. I think you get a little message on the fourth saying you’ve been frozen out for a short time.

(it also happens if you flag, delete old posts, or like too many things in a day too)

I believe it’s up to 24hours at Trust Level 1. (possibly 30 days at Trust Level 2, but we’ll have to wait and see )

A bit of extra detail on that. It seems that you get to spruce and tidy up a post for up to 5 minutes, and then any edits after that give it a little orange History pencil. Then after 24 hours (at TL1 at least) it’s closed to edits.

It doesn’t appear that other people’s edit histories are viewable at TL1, but if I tap on my own I can see the before and after gallery (depending on how many I’ve done ). So I can go backwards and forwards in that and the changes are all highlighted.

And I think you get a grace period on editing an edit too, so if you quickly need to go back in and fix a typo it won’t keep adding numbers to your pencil.
