@Private_member . I wouldnt say it was sexist, as many objectors can be women.
If women started gettibg their boobs out in George sqr in Glasgow or in any other citys parks, there would be plenty of female objectors.
And would they object to builders working there topless?
If not then to me it is sexism, one standard for one sex another for the other.
You can feel that way if you like. It doesnt change what would happen in reality.
I dont know what the term for women being sexist againts their own sex is…perhaps you can enlighten ?
Just a quick look at definitions online, this one from Oxford Language …
prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.
“sexism in language is an offensive reminder of the way the culture sees women”
Having a quick look through other definitions don’t see anything that ‘requires’ the person being sexist to be of the opposite sex.
Trying to get back on topic (and not compare the cultural differences between people in a park in Glasgow and those in Germany), I repeat, though the UK had got past this years ago on beaches. Certainly in Bournemouth where I was a few weeks ago with my daughter.
I personally have no objection what so ever. My wife and i regularly visit nudist beaches and love the leveling attitude it has amongst the other visitors
There is still a cultural resistance in the UK and that comes from both traditional minded attitudes and from incoming religions, where modesty in a womans appearance is prerequisite at all times.
I do not think we will see a change to the sexist attitudes you refer to, any time soon.
