Hi there, we are looking for opinions on which 8inch toys to buy that are low on friction so we don't have to use lube.. the silicon one seems to work better with lube and i'm worried that the plastic one are too 'hard' if thats possible ;)
I wouldn't recommend using any toy that size without lube. Why do you not want to use it?
I agree with Nat, lube will make the experience much more pleasurable that it could ever be without it.
Yep, even my smallest and smoothest insert able toy (Doc Johnson slimline dildo) would not be used without lube. As even though I probably could use it without - it's much less enjoyable!
Are you allergic to lube? Why don't you want to use it?
Lube is a necessity especially with large toys. There are lubes that accommodate for specific skin ailments etc ....if that is why you don't wish to use lube
I'm just popping in to agree with everyone else. Lube is an absolute must for insertable toys. It will make insertion easier and playtime more enjoyable.
I have sensitive skin, prone to thrush (yup I admit it) so I make sure I have a non irritating lube. Its definitely a necessity in my opinion. It makes everything more enjoyable and pain free. The durex aloe Vera one is my favourite for every day usage.
we've used lube in the past and weren't that impressed, it was a durex one and found it ended up 'sticky'.. maybe i should be asking about lube rather than toys?
Yes, there are much better lubes out there than Durex, they should stick to making condoms lol!
Sliquid, Liquid Silk, Lubido and the Lovehoney water based lube are popular choices of lube :)
I think you should be asking about lube instead. Using insertables without could be quite painful, especially if you're using larger toys. Lube is essential for toy usage.
Durex lubes suck. They're sticky and artificial. Don't even get me started on their Glycerine content! (Note: If your partner is prone to water infections or sensitive, look for lubes without this ingredient)
If you're open to suggestions, then I would recommend Lovehoney's Enjoy Lubricant or Sliquid H20.
quite happy to give things a try! more inclined to go for as natural as possible even if it costs more and certainly don't want one that interfere with any oral sex either! which do you think is closest to real 'wetness' or is that irrelevant if you are inserting a toy?!
I found Ann Summers lube sticky like syrup and if that had been my first time with lube I'd probably feel the same.
I love Lovehoney Peppermint falvoured lube for an all around performer with feel, taste and price!
But the BEST for feel/slippery-ness is pjur! I received a tester bottle a while ago and reviewed it, it was incredible but I could never justify spending that kind of money on lube!
I must be very unusual because I almost never use lube with any of my glass dildos! I've never felt I needed to because I have plenty of natural lubrication and I find the super smooth surface doesn't need more. I've never experienced any pain. I find silicone can drag, so I do use some water based lube with those toys.
(Obviously anal toys are quite different! I always use appropriate lube with them.)
Lube is very important when using toys does make the experience of the toy much smoother. We wife is sensitive to some lubes and have found liquid silk to the lube we like the most and we have stuck with that one.
i think i'll retry the lube route but also try a glass toy (which i'm convinced i won't need lube for! but we'll see!). what glass toy have people tried, i've never used one but am liking the idea one!!
I agree that glass can be used comfortably without lube, depending on the texture. I'd recommend the Tracey Cox set of two to start with :)

I have found the swoon lube very natural feeling, it's also very natural in terms of ingredients. My OH says it feels just like the real thing.
Just popping in to agree with everyone else- Try some new lube, it's worth the hassle of finding the right one for you :)
Not unless you are really wet with your own natural lubrication. Otherwise lube 😊
