See any shooting stars? Theres actually a meteor shower on at the moment. the Lyrid shower isnt very dense though (17/hr) and its point of origin is low on the horizon if your in the uk so its easy to miss. 
Next one is the η-Aquariid shower which peaks on the 6th of may and is alot denser, so worth a look.

Amazing!
I didn’t notice any last night, but I was unaware so not really looking. I live in the middle of the countryside so there is little ‘light pollution’ but last night the moon was so bight (casting strong shadows) that it may have obscured them. I might go out again this evening, as it seems the meteors will be around for a couple more days but it has hazed over a little.

Was it orange-ish? Going to work this morning the moon seemed to have an orange-hue.
nah, just really bright and apparently only at around 80% illumination. so should get even brighter in the next couple of days (weather permitting)

I use in-the-sky.org’s sky calender. Great for keeping tabs on the showers and other fun celestial stuff.
Nb. You need to set your location (on the top right, press where it says london). Pretty sure it will do most contries, but havent tested it

I left work this evening and my OH, who I absolutely did not expect to see, was waiting for me in the car! They had to drop a number of men from his deployment and he was one of them. He’s back for the weekend and then back into his normal work routine of being away Monday-Friday. Certainly beats the dread of 2.5 months away
