What cheered me up recently

Mrs W here …..

Thank you @KinkyMira ….. I think we were lucky to have found each other - as Mr W and I were too - its not all easy going (as you must know with your life-style) but we all seem to understand that if you want something, then you work for it and work for it to happen (exactly the same at work), but we don’t really know because we don’t analyse too much love xx

We have been on one many years ago the whole family including nephews, nieces grand parents and friends went to DIsneyland Paris and it was great fun. We did manage to flood the villa we stayed in, and i mean water flooding through the ceiling and down the stairs. The owners were not happy
Also ended up taking niece to the mens toilets by mistake, now that cheered me up

I love Disney especially Florida, but the boys have never been so I thought I’d take them to Paris first especially with them being autistic and can get overwhelmed by certain things, it’s not too much like Florida is.

If you have certificates/official documents registering their diagnosis, you can get priority passes on presenting them.

Look into it.

The queuing is downright offending imo considering how much it costs, so if you get something to help you cut/reduces the queues i would go with it.

I second this advice @Dirty-Wife

We got priority passes after showing my sons NHS diagnosis letter. We had a few meltdowns as you can imagine but it wasn’t that bad. We also took his DLA letter aswell just incase.

I hope you’s have a fantastic time :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

You are correct one of my nephews is disabled and my niece was being treated for cancer so we were able to skip the queue. No disrespect but the french were very rude and were always trying to skip the queues and push in.

Thank you and @Stacy2 me and my cousin were having this exact conversation yesterday lol I can have it either in name, one of my sons and my daughters but our youngest son hasn’t officially got his diagnosis just got to wait for it to come through. But it is something I will definitely do.

A priority pass lets you take 3 people with the pass holder. If you have 2 passes, that should account for the whole family.

They also accept letters stating you have been referred for diagnosis as they are aware of how long it can take.

It’s raining, cold and boring today but @WillC comment about not taking the bins up, on another thread, made me spit my coffee out. That simple joke put a smile on my face. Thanks Will.

Feeling a bit down currently, but knowing I gave a few of you a laugh has cheered me up! :+1:

That’s absolutely the worst @Dirty-Wife - I waited 5 years for LO’s diagnosis. Hope it gets sorted for you’s. After looking back I really wished we accounted for the differences with food, the taste, smell, even the ingredients in things - just thought it might be worth a mention just incase as we found a few problems around the subject

The smallest things makes me feel I’m helping people, I offer free digital help whenever I can, the elderly really need this, I never expect anything as I feel the elderly shouldn’t feel left alone.

I was surprised that someone left me a box of biscuits with a note saying thank you

Yes the government and world at large seem to think the elderly are all tech/Internet savvy and don’t really care that they feel excluded and ignored because of that. Seen numerous people complain that just paying to park their cars is impossible cos they don’t understand apps and smartphones to pay.

I admire you for helping out.

I think it’s terrible that we are all now expected to have internet but yet we have to pay for it…

For GP appointments…sending in meter readings…for the kids for school…etc etc.

I’m not tech savvy myself…when going from android to I-phone…

Let’s just say I nearly smashed the bloody thing…

Was talking to someone yesterday and they said they’d sent me a link by text to upload my drivers licence but I wasn’t getting the text. The connection was breaking up and he was trying to explain how to access my spam box for texts in case it had gone there! I was saying why can’t we do all this via email and he said he couldn’t from his end! I was getting seriously frustrated but managed to access the spam box whilst still on my phone and unblock it. OMG my stress levels were through the roof!

I absolutely hate explaining iPhones as I’m a android person.

@WillC Parking machines often get brought up, I always try to make them feel comfortable by saying I don’t know myself and how about I go over to the car park with you.

Alot of the elderly say their grandchildren explains it so fast and then look at you as if you are stupid. I tell them wait until they want to learn to drive and say to them its so easy what’s wrong with you…

It always bugs me that when I go to the dentist the parking in the village is free for 3 hours, but you still have to enter your registration number. I can do it, but i bet it deters a lot of elderly shoppers from shopping in the High Street that you could once park outside the shops and it was thriving unlike the ghost town it is now.
