What cheered me up recently

Just mowed the lawn for the first time this year, and put spray and leave algae remover on the path and patio, the tulips and daffodils in my planters are shooting up, spring is definitely in the air!

My lawn is 50% moss now after this winter.

Bought a wheeled lawn spreader (and that’s got me really excited :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::face_with_spiral_eyes:) and will declare war on the moss this weekend.

I have a lot of moss this year on the shaded side, got some liquid feed and moss killer, but can’t apply it until a few days after mowing, so must exercise patience!

The patience is hard……

Mowed our grass for first time this year and no moss. Trick is dont cut it too short otherwise moss spores can get in when the grass gets dry in the summer and then grows during the winter.

I did read that too, thank you for confirming.

I must be getting old, I’m really looking forward to sorting that lawn out.

Thank you

Mowed for the second time last week . Been having large amounts of rain last week or two . By next month it will be full time lawn and garden work .

Yes, fortunately my lawn is relatively small. Once into April I will be looking at planting up my patio containers and borders, got some seeds to sow in the borders when the frosts are gone, and some fancy looking sunflower seeds to propagate.

I will have to plan out ground vegetable beds , raised beds and green house . I will hold off until some time in May for pond cleaning . End of next month for pressure washing patio and driveway . Also need to formulate a plan to keep blackberries from neighbor’s yard from taking over the back corner . If I had a four man crew , it would be easy to keep up .

Flew out to Lanzarote yesterday and it’s absolutely baltic

Today we finally have a little bit of sun breaking through :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: Definitely the coldest March I’ve seen!

Hubby took me to a massive car park to do forward bay parking and reverse bay parking. So bloody chuffed that I managed to get in the bay first time when I done the reverse bay parking  Probably don’t seem much but to me it means a lot, I know I won’t get it perfect every time, I didn’t when I done it again, but I got to practice trying to straighten up and then get in the bay.

Go you! :partying_face::partying_face:

I will reverse bay park 99% of the time, find it so much easier than forward bay parking (my spacial awareness for that is terrible!)

You should be super proud!

Mrs W here ………

Well, I was asked a few days a go to attend a “Director’s Meeting” held this morning. Traditionally these are to review jobs done in past 5 years, what jobs we are doing now and on what jobs we should focus on getting in the near future (based on a multitude of reasons). I was told that the additional work my boys and I have been doing the last 2 or 3 months is really making senior staff think and hopefully will - in the future - pay dividends for the Company, so they want that to continue but now also want us to have input into the other things that are reviewed; so I requested relevant contractual and financial documents relating to previous 5 years of jobs the Company has done, plus access to all contractual, costs and recovery on current and future jobs. They agreed straight way and allocated us a couple of additional staff to arrange all of that over the next month. So that was ok, but the icing on the cake was at 3pm, got all my boys together and told them what happened during this morning’s meeting. They were so pleased, they started cheering, I responded “Well, you deserve it”…… they responded “No, not us…. you”……………… how fantastic was that, talk about cheered up xxx

Well done, it sounds like the financial side of things are very good so the company are very pleased but your boys also acknowledge what a fantastic job you are doing. I think you should be going out this weekend with Pen to celebrate.

Mrs W here ….

Thank you @steve19 yes, the Company seems to be doing ok …. it really is a 2-way thing, the boys and I do our bit and point out to the management where we think there could be improvements, and the management understand those and give us the go ahead to get on with it. Then it is up to my boys and I to perform ….. the boys are the manpower and I am educating them in the strategy, how to read documents and how to accurately estimate how the costs and income will happen - as they say, cream always rises to the top and obviously some of my boys are ahead of others …… my boys work in teams and they are each able to see their future progressive paths and being teams, they sort out their own wheat and chaff themselves …… have a fantastic day everybody and you and Mrs steve love xxxx
