Always love to discover new stuff even at my advanced age! About 20 years ago I bought an album by Ayreon just because James LaBrie of Dream Theater sang in it, and it lead me to buying the back catalogue and every release since as the music and subject matter was right up my street!
Good
Oh i’m the same! I kept hearing Blinding Lights by The Weeknd but never found out who it was by and the actual title until a couple of years later! ![]()
Went to the garden centre today to get some plants and compost for some hanging baskets. We forgot the compost so I sent hubby in to go and pay for some while I waited by the compost with my trolley full of plants. Next thing I know some bloke comes over to me and starts chatting. Saying you are going to be busy and I said yes but he didn’t go away and just kept talking to me. Only when hubby came out of the garden centre and came over did he make a very quick exit. I said to hubby “see you leave me alone for 5 minutes and I get chatted up”. Gave my ego a boost though ![]()
It might be a bit of a daft thing, but the unconditional love of my dog. He sidles up to me and just leans on my side, head on my shoulder. It always lifts me up, especially so this year when so much has gone wrong. He really is a diamond.

They make much better friends than humans to be honest. Think it was Mark Twain who said the lifespan of a dog proves there is no god.
@WillC if you turn around the spelling of God what do you get “Dog”. I think that says it all.

Massive underdogs so it made me smile.

Drats!
Pretty much all of the day yesterday. We started the day with an awesome bike ride, 12 miles in gorgeous weather, then a nice breakfast, then an hour long group meditation session with friends with some enlightening chanting. Then a second session with my therapist, giving me some more insights to deal with our ongoing issues. Finally, some late day sexual play, which was a mix of pleasure and frustration because I did not orgasm. The final thing was a great dinner where I grilled some wonderful salmon and paired it with fresh home made coleslaw. Probably one of the best days we have had in a long time. Can’t help smiling about how good a day it was.
Today
What cheered me up was yesterday my wife thanked me for all the work I am doing on myself. Therapy, meditation, my TaiChi practice, and really trying to be a better version of who I am. We had a discussion on her sometimes chirping attitude and how that affects me, which was huge.
We also had a great day together with shopping for the house and a nice , but short bike ride. Three days in a row that were very pleasant, that makes me smile.
